Exactly.

The way I see carbineer is, whenever you see someone in a war film shout "cover me" as he runs toward the enemy.... the guy being shouted at is a Carbineer. (sort of....)

Something Warcry-ie would be nice. Lock one person in place, but going with the Warcry change, if he gets damaged it brea

In general. more speed or better defences. I tried to think of something, it's a pipe dream but I'd really love is a ranged deathblow as I'm tired of PvP steals or a lucky leech from others.

I thought, some sort of "covering fire" so our troops could retreat .. but actionshot2/supressionfire2 does that if it lands.

So. Some sort of personal close range defence. Regardless of whats supposed to happen I've yet to stop the MOBs getting up close and personal. How about:

"Point Blank Single 2"
"Point Blank Area 2"

Those are hardly in keeping with our other skill progression - which makes me think /chargeshot2 should probably move to the master box, and the Point Blank's introduce lower in a tree.

+60 speed just doesnt compare favourable with +85 .. even if it does stack impressively with BH+carbine. So, possibly a series of specials 'replacing' earlier ones but with lower multipliers. Or increase carbnieer speed and introduce a speed hard cap at 90. (allowing for any profession + tapes to hit the cap)

(If the combat changes are going to remove incap on mind pool, or at least its unhealable state.. it might make sense for wild shot to become a sort of "psychological tactical shot" and do mind damage. Then we can hit Health / Action / Mind or Scatter as opposed to relying on random pool. /wildshot2 then maybe signficiant enough to place it in the masters box.)

ok.. reading another post made me think of this:

"Set Phasers to Stun", any weapon becomes Stun Damage.

of course it needs a better name, those ST's did Stun Leia in the opening of ANH. "sleeper shot" ?

Moving some of the specials to master is defnitely an idea. I would say bumping /chargeshot2 up to master is a good idea. Also move /fullautosingle2 to the Special Abilities 2 bow, Maybe jump /crippleshot up to Marksmanship 4. Everything else seems pretty good.

AoE shots should be high up the trees, with the change coming to LegShot3, that will need to be moved as well.



We don't want to make it impossible to level up in Carbineer, but it must take more than 0010 to be effective.

Even though I'll agree that carbineer has enough specials as it is, if the dev's are wanting suggestions for a master level ability I'm not about to argue with 'em


I would love to see an AoE attack with a delay. Even though they nerfed them, they still come in handy, and it definately fits the carbineers profile of crowd control.

How about a neat clever name for a full auto 3? Can't think of a good name right now though, I have no military background.


A mind pool shot would be nice.

How about this:


Scattershot3 - AoE verision of Scattershot2 plus a chance to intimidate the effected targets. HAM costs of this special should be by far the worst of our profession. Reload times can be tweaked to compensate for the intimidate duration. Damage to target should be same asora little betterthan Scattershot2. As far as a cool name for this, I am fresh out of ideas (my first thought was to call it AreaScatterShot.......... but I would be laughing to myself everytime I used this special.....hehe "Kenji hits you with an A.S.S. blast for x damage, you feel very intimidated" )

You want military jargon for what?



Enfilading fire. (Enfilade - To fire into a line of troops, ie. from the flank.)



Covering fire. (Suppression fire, same difference. Used for movement-to-contact.)



Since you already have "Suppression Fire" as a special name, maybe "Enfilading Fire" might be more of a militarytermfor Fullautoarea 1 & 2.As for fullautosingle, I have no idea... full-auto fire in the infantryis simply usedto keep the enemy's head down while your squad isretreatingor moving forward. In the real world the squad automatic weapon (SAW) guy'sprimary job is to keep theenemy pinned down with large volumes of fire, so that the rest of his teamcan get into fighting positions. That's not to say they aren't trying to hit the enemy, as well, but their job is primarily to rake fire over the enemy's position to keep their heads down while your team maneuvers.


What you really need to push for is having Suppressionfire 2 becomine an AoE. That's its purpose in the real world. Area suppression.

**edit** AOE **edit**, i wanna see something with massive damage. just massive massive damage. like a 9.0 modifier.

fire would be nice as well. or a shot that KD/dizzies as well as doing nice damage (like maybe a 5.0-6.0 modifier and a KD/dizzy. with a good dizzy %, like 50% or higher).

or something that is a close range shot, but hits all 3 pools EVERY time (not just triple random like scattershot2) and KDs.

I like the idea of Suppression fire2 aoe posture down.


I also like some kind of carbineshot3 like tkm get unarmed 3, maybe a Fullauto3, Fullautoarea3or something but then burstshot 2 may be alittle redundant then, and that's not what we want more redundant specials.
