Why dont you go and take a look at my Signature? Then go look at the Jedi forums, come back and tell me I dont have the right to troll wherever I want. Not that I'm even trolling, you guys are the trolls complaining about this. I never had a problem with Carbineer KD, not like I ever got killed by it, but I do know it was seriousally overpowered. Like I said, just because you guys are broken to hell doesnt mean you should have a special that keeps a target on its back for hours on end if you want, thats not how PvE is supposed to work and you know that.



Btw, defense mod stacking was nerfed aswell, and everything will be balanced later on, the simple fact is the devs needed to stop the exploiting of this special a.s.a.p because some really ridiculious things were happening. My two friends, on a carbineer the othera commando, were solo-ing Dark Jedi Masters non stop for weeks using charge shot, because the DJM cant get up or do anything. Do you think that is the way it is supposed to work? Two people killing a dark jedi master without even getting hit once or being in any risk? Or one commando/carbineer with charge shot killing krayt all day? You would have to be very naive to think this wasnt going to be nerfed.







If you know so much about carbine KD then you would understand why everyone is so upset. Most of us that are expressing how we and feel are not expoltors. However, snice you're all o'mighty jedi, I guess you feel that gives you the right to poke at classes when they eat a nerf. And you seem to been under the impression that our KD is O'Ubah, never was, and never will be now.CS needed to be looked and addressed, at least for carbineer, like we have said only thing that we have going for us. Grats on the Jedi, however man not a good idea to hop/poke/TROLL into boards and say a certain class deserves anything, esp right after a nerf. How about you ask your guildmates and friends how they feel about this nerf, maybe that will give you a clue. Unless you seriously like to stir the pot

Actually defensive templates still stack but no worries I alrdy found a way around charge 1. Add another dead jedi to my list plz

I feel sorry for you carbineers. I know how it feels to be gimped by the devs. Im a commando, and although my initial flame attack is stronger, my bleed was the onlything i had going in PVP/PVE. Like carbineers, commandos lose thier stuff before anything else is fixed.


We need to band together against these changes. We cant be told by these idiots whats good for the game as they dont even play it. The devs are NOT the boss.. its quite simple... they piss us off.. we leave. could they last without players? id love to see them try

remember back in the day pre pre nerf when after you did charge1 they didnt get up and comandos could solo 3-5 at st's with a rock beetle for a tank. I miss em

Just trying to be helpful here and not stir the pot. Just a suggestion(as I'm sure most of you already know but...) to help work with what you have been left with after the patch.


You could pick up Novice Brawler and grab Warcry and set yourself up a little macro:


/chargeshot1;

/pause 3 or 4; (depending on how much you like to push it)

/warcry;

/pause 25;

/tell yourself time for another knockdown


That will basically turn it into a 15 second knockdown and leave you with 15 seconds until you can do your knockdown again. Warcry has a pretty good range so you should still be able to stay back for accuracy purposes and do this move.


I only suggested Warcry 1 since you wouldn't have to XP any to get it. I know it sucks giving up the 15 points but I guess it depends on how important having the extended knockdown is to you. If you get Master Brawler you can get Warcry 2 which lasts for 20 seconds so only leaves you with 5 seconds until the next knockdown.


You can also easily and fairly cheaply pick up some plus Warcry and Intimidate items up to plus 25 that help alot. The bonus with going that route is you get Intimidate which is just an awesome skill to have for both PvPer and PvE.


I'm sure alot of you already know this but for those that didn't I hope this may help deal with what you have now. Again just trying to be helpful.

What is that one move TK have? The one where they hit one button and it dizzy/kd and keeps you on your back until the dizzy wears off?


Fixing charge shot is fine...it needed it, but give us somethign useful with it, not just a punch in the face saying "Here, we took away the only thing that kept you alive, now go play for a month and hope for Publish 7, we may have thought about doing something about your requests then, but that is just a maybe. Don't count on it. BTW, we put a timer on your other KD (CS2) to keep you guys from exploiting, it doesn't KD, butwe fixed it anyways"


I know you said PvE,and dizzy/KD doesn't work on creatures, but it does work on NPCs.


Spamming chargeshot to allow other people to take shots at a krayt dragon, dark jedi master, etc. should not be allowed. There is nothing realistic about 2 people taking out a canyon Krayt dragon.


Although, I definetely believe the timing of this fix was way off. Forget keeping brawlers out of range with those 20 meter lunges they have.

They didnt fix chargeshot2. Did anyone actually knock a group down? I couldnt get it to work. Anyway, March is supposed to combat month, so maybe we will all get something.

Well I mastered carbineer about 10 minutes ago and dropped it to go back to tka about 5 minutes ago. I really do like carbineer. Ranged is fun. I rarely used CS1 because the dmg was low and they only stay down for a second or two. I used a BE non-ch pet to tank, it seems more effective than spamming CS1. But I have to admit, that CS1 and burstshot1 were the only specials I had in my toolbar. I experimented with all of them while I was grinding but apperently theyALL suck.I sincerely hope they fix carbineer someday along with all the other broken professions. When they do, I'll be happy to come back. Untill then good luck to all of you carbineers out there. For me it's just not worth it to be a carbineer. And to that dude that keeps flaming, try being a carbineer for just one week before you come here and tell the carbineers that they were overpowered. Carbineer is in my oppinion the most underpowered class in the game.

There's no doubt about it. What charge shot 1 did needed to go. The absence of a knockdown timer being an intended effect was not up for debate. It was supposed to have a timer, as was told to people through thousands of tickets. I myself did a bug report on charge shot 1 when I was a master carbineer. However not everyone knew this, as not everyone accesses the forums and as some people(mostly carbineers) were telling less experienced players that Charge Shot 1 was "working as intended", which it most certainly wasn't. This being the case, sometimes it was difficult to tell who was "exploiting" the bugged special, and who was not.

The problem with this picture is pretty clear, and I probably don't have to elaborate on it any further. I saw someone post about how they don't see the problem with charge shot. Let's take Carbineer Vs Jedi, as an example. Have you seen what happens to someone if you repeatately fired charge shot in a manner like that screenshot above? The person does not stand up, there is no time to do so because the knockdown is being applied so fast, given that the carbineer is using a fast gun like a DH17 snub nose. So the carbineer continuously fires charge shot on said character and does so until that person is incapacitated. During this time, the person is defenceless and cannot fight back. It was a problem whether you want to believe it or not. What people have been saying about Charge Shot, is not whining. It was trying to make a large enough uproar about a horrible imbalance, that needed to be addressed. Calling it whining only means that you wanted to protect it, making you a guilty party.


NOW, all of that being said, on the original topic of this thread...Carbineer, besides Doctor, was my most thoroughly played profession. And yes the biggest problem with what this patch did was turn carbineer from a profession that was played by: people looking for a challenge, people seeking to abuse charge shot, and holo grinders(pardon if I left out any other less populated reasons). Now carbineer is played by two sorts of people, those looking for a challenge, and those hologrinding meaning they are only playing it because they HAVE to. Without an abusable special, there is no-positive-aspect-to-Carbineer. I agree, very much so, that carbineer is one of the worst, if not THE worst combat profession in the game right now. They NEEDED to add something else to carbineer to make it viable when they took away charge shot, but they didn't. And now you guys get shafted because of it. Anyone that's kept the damn prof for this long I give respect to, because it takes a lot of nuts to get anywhere with it, even if you did have CS1.


Bottom line, I'm basiclly just trying to clear up the fact that people haven't been "whining", they been frustrated and were just trying to see something get fixed. And the same goes for all of you, asking for Carbineer to be fixed. The sad thing is though, there are more of them and less of you. Hopefully your profession is taken care of soon. I'd love to see a little variety for once instead of all of these riflemen running around. Rifles make carbines and pistols obsolete, and it's destroying PvP.
