Anything that has range mods under +20 are not really effective in pvp. We have been testing it over and over... RANGE MOD is the key to pvp.
I did a run of PvP Elite Carbines, they're scoped and stocked to hell and back so its not really useful to a non-BH, but its +95 at ldeal range.

To add to what TA said I have taken a back line in group PvP. I have found even against stackers if I do the triple aim I can get a KD about 95% of the time. The trick is to target someone that is already engaged so they don't start attacking you first.

Can I ask why you would use any type of 'energy' damage in pvp? Ok ill admit I do use my elite sometimes to spray them down with state attacks, then when damage is needed to finish off there mind poolI use my Drx6. Acid damage 85-90% blocked by composite. Energy damage 30-45% energy blocked from psg+ 85-90%fromwhatever isleft after the psgenergy blocked from composite. Sure the min damage on a drx6 is not as good as an Elite Carb, the accuracy if made right is about the same for both, but you all saying Elite is better is confusing me.
I agree with you Sivoi. I don't think the small potential of damage that can be gained by using an elite warrents it's use over a DXR6, when compaired to the potential loss of lots of damage if they are using an imp PSG.
I don't have any 'uber" guns, but my imp stocked DXR6 is around 167-276 pretty close to my 190-280ish elite.
The DXR6 has more style IMO, plus cool sound FX ![]()

So basically, riflemen are carbineers (run around and fire at blazing fast speeds with an area attack), and carbineers are riflemen (slower, stay back, selectively pick targets to hit, and try to avoid being engaged)? Oh, and of course the carbineers need to use more mental concentrationto fight to decide which specials to use when, where as for riflemen it's more active in that you need to click the trigger quickly while running around as fast as you can.
I wonder if in the combat revamp will simply involve renaming the two professions...
Edit: added the "Oh, and of course" sentence.
