Yeh alright ill buy that. But you know if we get a stun weapon it will have low damage like the other stun weapons so its a tossup.

New geonosian sonic pistol thingy has the potential to be the most powerful pistol available. And it deals stun damage.

I agree that it could be a candidate for AP medium and in most cases, isn't thehottest piece in our arsenal, but lets look at some of the benefits of the Elite before we throw it to the wolves.

Its speed isn't the fastest, but far from the worst. Give it a 30% or better speed power up, and you're back in competition range with some of the more utilitarian carbines in the Marksman tree.

Its damage isn't the most spectacular, but lets look at the spread of that damage. Its a VERY tight spread and in the greater scheme of things, one of the weapons least impacted by the effects of damage mitigation. In terms of PvP, the Elite is in most cases, more functional than an E11 by virtue of higher damage and more powerful than a Laser Carbine by virtue of the far tighter spread. This spread can be further mitigated by using min damage increase power ups that further tighten the range going even further towards keeping damage mitigation from reducing its impact.

Yeah, I agree the Elite isn't necessarily the hottest carbine on the market. With the removal of armor from all but the highest end MOBs in PvE, my DH17 is seeing far more use in day to day money earning, but in PvP, the speed sliced and powered up Elite I own is a definite edge over all but the best Laser carbines with triple digit low range numbers (which are exceptionally rare).

Perhaps the Heavy AP is offset by the much lower speed. *shrug*

You realize, because of all the speed mods a rifleman gets, a master fires at the speed cap...

Anyways, as a weaponsmith / carbineer, I feel I don't really have much choice for myself. I made myself a Krayt laser carbine, speed sliced, yay (I've still got my damage sliced E11 carbine though, that thing came out pretty good).

I haven't sliced my krayt Elite yet, and my Krayt DH17 came out with a speed slice also

What I'm saying about the T21 / Elite carbine is this:

T21 rifle and Elite carbine use the *same* resources (but the T21 uses more power handlers than the elite, the elite uses more power handlers than the laser). This seems to imply, that either the resources, or number of power handlers "determine" the armor piercing. So the Elite *should* be at the same level as the laser, at least (It doesn't require enough resources for AP3)

What carbineers need are some *expensive* to make weapons, like the T21 is (besides stuff like Rocket Lauchers, the T21 uses more resources than nearly any other weapon), with some major AP and damage. We all need VARIETY. There are a *ton* of pistols, and a *ton* of rifles, and, unlike carbines, pistoleers / rifleman have a *CHOICE* in weapon. Yesterday I had a few players come to me, one wanted two krayted DL44 pistols, the next wanted two krayted Scout pistols.

Another odd thing is my biggest selling rifle is the Tusken Rifle.

If anything, make a schematic for the Nym's Slugthrower lootable, and change the damage from acid to something we don't have (blast!).

Nym's slugthrower could use projectile rifle barrel, and projectile feed mechanism (there is only ONE weapon in the game that uses projectile rifle barrels right now, the Tusken Rifle)

this thread is getting really depressing.

perhaps we could put a positive spin on it? maybe if they wait long enough to catch us up on the weapon side of things, the fixes from publish seven WON'T cause a huge influx of players, preventing carbineer from EVER becoming a flavor of the month profession?

one can only hope
