Actually, Wilibus, I think it's best for carbines to generally be slower than pistols, for balance issues. I think that pistols should have a cap of 1 second, carbines 2 seconds and rifles 3 seconds...

And some things that are good about carbines:

They have decent speeds and pack a decent punch

If you are a carbineer in a group, you can be very helpful by using area of effect knockdown and posture changes, and then your buddies can use what they've got on the slowed enemies.

Carbines also just look cool.

Carbines do look cool, andfrom a roleplaying stance i like them alot, and to be honest it is why i choose carbines over any other combat proffession before i even played the game. Andi am not going to change mymind based on complaints, i think the proffession is just fine as it, maybea little underpowered, butPublish 7 shouldfix that. On the subject of speed being capped at 2 seconds .... why?

From a completely roleplaying basis carbines should be the fastest in the game, i think we should lower the damage and increase the speed, i think carbines should have very low damage and insane speed, whereas rifels should be the opposite, high damage, very low speed. Whereas pistols should be a comparable mix of the two.

From a game stance i can't really comment since the only pistols i ever see are godly uber weapons, like the new stun damage genoesian one. 150-600 damage my foot!, Carbines dont even come close to comparing with that. But to the point on game balance issues. I agree the speed should be capped on a teir system maybe not 1, 2 and 3 seconds, and for sure the order should be Carbine, Pistols, Rifles.

And i am going to withold my comments on the AoE skills, until they go live and i can actually try them, but from what i have been hearing i will not be dissapointed, once agian thanks Nova
