Well dueling a PC, I can tell you EACH ScatterShot2 pool hit is affected by the Armor. I personally tested this, comparing the Combat Log vs. Calculated Damage vs. HAM loss floating above target's head. And I did this test controlling BOTH characters

Even if the second and third pool hits did NOT punch through defenses and/or resists, ScatterShot2 is still the best chance to hit Mind and a prime choice in PvP.

I'm confused. These two statements seem to contradict each other. First, you say that each pool hit from SS2 is affected by armor resists... then you say that even if each pool hit was affected by resists, SS2 would still be the way to go. This implies that SS2 does indeed punch through armor. So which is it?

Unless, of course, you mean something completely different by "defenses and/or resists."

I have already proven that ALL 3 hits of ScatterShot2 are reduced by my 85% Comp Armor. Now I haven't looked at the Defenses at all so if the first hit is Blocked the other two may still get through. My point is, that even if this wasn't the case, ScatterShot2 is the best PvP shot IMO.

my biggest gripe is the fact that Scatter shot 2 owns crippling shot in damage/ham use/ and speed..

I mean really **edit**.. Did they mess up with specials or somthing. Crippling shot should be in the rifle tree and we should have one of these..

I'll try using scattershot a bit more often in PVP and tell you what I could notice, thanx for all the great comments and info. This post is very nice!

Whoa, I wasn't doubting your results, just your wording. You didn't make clear what "defenses and resists" meant, so I wasn't sure if you meant armor or something else (it seams you mean "something else").

i'm a bh, trying out a few lines in carbine tree. I always thought crippling shot was suppose to be the most powerful carbine special. I didn't even have scattershot hotlinked. Tried it out for the last week.

In dathomir energy sensitive ns, and enraged bull rancor, and ancient bull rancor. All die alot quicker, from me using scattershot verse crippling shot. With scattershot hitting all three hams, and still killing quicker than crippling shot, I finding this special very effective.

Just wished it registered its damage properly so the numbers could be crunched.

scattershot cant be dodged blocked or counterattacked

it also makes armor function as armor rating0

Robb, are you sure about that? I heard of the fencer attack scatter shiak being this way, but i think some tests have been run and the armor is still calculated.

I would need to see some real proof to believe this for sure. I tested the resistances but nothing withthe AR/AP.

I can't show you the proof because a guildie took the damage for my test. She said her defensive mods (air cake) stopped 0 as did her armor. We turned it around and did it with the other broken attacks from tk and fencer and my armor stopped nothing.
