I don't understand why you think a class that can KD and keep down 6 Krayt Dragons is not crowd control.

As a Master Commando, I currently hate the way we're currently set up. Flamethrowers would have been long proved ineffective and extremely cruel but I guess the DEV's ran out of ideas for weapons. I agree with the Commando getting more of a mid-sized machine gun or something similar because you can't make them what they are in real life without alienating the other classes (commandos would pretty much be equipped with rocket launchers, assault rifles, carbines, pistols, knives, grenades, etc. if they were to be a real life counterpart and have insane accuracy and weapon familiarization). Carbineers should be, in essence, a soldier. Equipped with standard issue carbines with the ability to pinpoint targets or spray down an area with fire (even if inaccurate it would keep heads down i.e. knockdown). It would be the perfect class for those wanting to emulate Stormtroopers or Rebel Troopers because they would be Soldiers with training to deal with any most situations. In fact I wish Commandos had a Carbine tree because they use carbines in real life for, as someone stated before, the punch and accuracy of arifle in a package small enough for indoor combat. I like the idea and wish it to be implemented but some people are dead set on being Crowd Control.

Agreed! Nice post...

I see the carbineers, as the.... Does guy from vietnam running around with the little sub machine gun.... straight fire...

Pistoleers - Does who goes up really close....

rifleman - heavy gunners and snipers...

commandos - anti vehicle supporters(destroying at-sts and vehicles fast) and stuff like that...

Yeah. I don't want to be a support or crowd control class, I chose Carbineer thinking we'd be using assault rifles and being the center of combat.

Id also like to see carbineers with some grenade certs...at least c22's

and a bayonett with a cool special. Could even make the bayonett an optional componet that reduces the ideal range mod some or sompthing.

assault weapons have incorporated into their design specific features that enable shooters to spray ("hose down") a large number of bullets over a broad killing zone, without having to aim at each individual target.

if that isnt suppression then what is? you might want to do a little more research on carbines and assault rifles before you say crowd control is not a carbineer function.assault rifles are standard issue for modern armies specifically because they give thefirepower tosuppress multiple enemy soldiers coupled with the mobility of the infantryman wheras in the past a machine gun crew took 2 or 3 soldiers that could only fire from a static position.

you might want to do a little research on carbines and assault rifles before you make such statements. also if you dont see the natural crowd control abilities that the carbineer classis built around you havent been a carbineer very long.

I see that and thats not my argument, I believe I stated several times in my numerous posts that spray and pray ablitiles should definetly be a distinction of our group... but this notion that we are meant to be low damage hitting status effect causing AOE attack distinct class is what I'm arguing against.

Also it wouldn't hurt to give another class a heavy machine gun in this game.

Carbineer? Crowd-control? Naaa.

We're infiltrators. Move in and bambambam (that was charge/confusion/cripple btw ) and everyone's dead. A great 1v1 class, and great when we move fast enough to get hit. But in a knock-down-drawn-out fight, our defenses just won't cut it.

I like it that way. If you're not on your ass in 3 seconds I'll probably lose.

At least, that's what you get when you combine BH and Carbineer. Like TH has been posting, this isn't a "I'm this and not that game." You have more skillpoints. Be what you want to be.

personally i like the infiltrator idea better than frontline troops, but i like to play it defensively (see sig for professions ).

ATM, i consider our crowd control abilities substitute for defense that we don't get (and riflemen and pistoleers do). Believe me, even a MBH can't touch me when i blind them or use CoB .

I've got an M4A1 R.I.S.

not in-game of course, and I play Airsoft, so I love Carbineer

Butas odd as it may be, Im more powerful with a gun that shoots, than one that shoots Acid, *cough*DX2*cough*

Point is: Carbineer is boring, broken, and not like a Carbineeer should be

It's not boring or broken if you're a swordsman as well!

personally, i found pikeman to be far worse off, so i quit whining about carbineer. Despite our brokenness, we are a really good profession... even with the lack of distinction on waht we truly are supposed to be.
