do people in hell want ice water: Yes

will they get it: No

good point Cadet, no sense wishing for something that isnt going to happen. It would be nice if Nyms were kenetic as the name of the weapon implies but either way it doesnt make much difference, there seems to be as many mobs (if not more) with acid vulnerabilities as there are ones with kenetic vulnerabilites. also with 80% kenetic armor being so popular (at least on my server) it might just be best if Nyms remained an acid damage weapon (if a dev reads this you can bet it will be switched to kenetic damage :tongue

as for the elite, i wouldnt care if it did water damage if some decent plumbum iron would spawn. plumbum iron has been total crap since release on every server along with polonium iron (used in the e11). why? no one seems to know and SOE doesnt seem to want to address it.some halfway decent plumbum would make a world of diff.

I think that something other than our best gun should be Stun like the others. You'll notice that all of the best guns of each class is Energy damage, a common type that is most protected against. So, make the E11 do Stun.

Everyone's said since the beginning that Nym's Carbine should be a kinetic gun. We already have the DXR6, which can be made better than the Nym. Nym offers nothing but novelty.

Nah, i think having stun damage would be far too powerful... spammable KD + a damage type that basically ignored most armor? We'd get nerfed for sure. I'd much rather have a cold damage gun

Must have over-looked that. It is true that the Ion Rifle isn't that bad, but it is by far not the best rifle. My point was that the Elite is our best carbine. If we made our best gun stun, why would we not make the T21 stun?

Hmm. I'm curious to see the stats on your Elite carbine that make you think it's the best in our lineup. Everyone I know who even thinks about using carbines chooses the Laser.

For argument's sake, how about the E11 carbine then? I don't know. I'm just sick of looking at our choice of weapons and seeing Energy, Energy, Energy.

In PvE yes, thats true

In Pvp? Riflemen with the ion rifle OWN. I get taken down by a rifleman with the ion rifle, and i clone, and go about my business elsewhere, because im not gonna win.

This is the truth. I'm not asking for a Rifleman/Jawa Rifle nerf. I'm calling for a carbine that will allowusto be a competitor.

The Elite should definetly remain energy based, instead make some of our other carbs do stun, E11 would be a good choice. I use my elite both in PvE and PvP and so far I havent been able to make one carb that would be better suited for it, a DXR6 doesnt even come close, although its good for close up fighting.

until recently i was an mbh with carbineer 0/3/2/0. i specialized in bh carbines and found carbineer crippleshot to be an ideal addition to the bh carbine skills.i also pvp'ed a lot and found that the elite carbine really is the best option for pvp purposes.

here is the primary reasoning: ranged mitigation. on my server laser carbines have an enormous stat range which gets squashed down to the teeny-tiny low end of damage against those with ranged mitigation 3. by comparison, the elite carbine has a relatively high minimum damage and a small range of min-max, meaning that it is by far affected the least by mitigation.

for example:against a mitigated opponent 40-280 (avg. basic laser carb stats) gets chopped down to 40-144, meaning that the damage multipliers on specials will most likely be based on an average of a 100pt attack, with a significant percentage of shots being multiplied based on exceedingly low damages. even with the 7x damage modifier of crippleshot, it doesnt amount to much if youre using 7x 40pts= 280pts.

compare this to an elite carbine which has avg stats of 100-196 damage, and even against a fully mitigated opponent you still hit for a MINIMUM of 700pts of damage with each crippleshot, since mitigation doesnt affect the minimum damage of a weapon.

of course there are other factors which can come into play, i.e., exceptional weapons... but for the sake of general conversation the elite carbine is much more suited to pvp than the laser carbine and this is why.

I would be just as happy to use an E11 to deal Stun damage. Either way, I think there needs to be something for us to use against composite armor.

Yea, not saying I would USE the Nym, hehe. But it just SHOULD be kinetic. =)

I don't mind the limited damage types, I'm happy with our class. Just fix our specials, and everyone else's.

I don't think they should change the E11 to stun. It's the standard Stormtrooper's weapon--it should be energy, not stun.

I think the Elite as stun weapon would be great. Look at all the energy weapons we have:

CDEF, DH17, DH17snubnose, E11, Laser, Elite -- it's crazy.
