Only problem is, espeically with halva, you need 5 scissors to counter 1 paper. While the paper can also beat rocks, and the scissors doesn't actually beat the paper, but just neutralize it.

I believe the official line is:

Halva has been presented to the devs by the combat medic correspondent, the chef correspondent, and possibly the doctor correspondent as a PvP breaking combination when mixed with combat medic poisons and diseases. The devshave not given an official word about that yet, although we are pressing them hard for one and are waiting for one with baited breath.

Furthermore, doctors can also use Halva to assist in curing of poisons as a partial to full counter to combat medics using Halva.

Edit: to clarify, I was refering to templates, not to professions. So yes, a doctor neutralizes a combat medic rather than defeat it. But a doctor-rifleman-something else can (andif played right usuallydoes) beat a combat medic-rifleman, because the extra SP gives an edge (such as novice brawler with warcry/intimidate).

You should no better than try to defend CM's in THIS Forum.....

We all know the PvP aspect is horribly broken and the CM is the strongest group profession today.

The problem is that people post:

stuff... stuff... combat medics are (insert statement)... stuff...

But the issues are much more complex than that. If I don't speak up, then the ignorance will not only continue, but it will spread.

For example, how fast do you think a poison ticks, and how much can a non-loot drop area poison tick for? Jane Riflemanexaggerates how she was destroyed by a 1000 mind tick poison after 5 seconds, then Jack Commando takes it one step further and comments how he was beated by a 1500 tick poison in 4 seconds, which eventually cumulates into unfounded complaints on the GCW and CM forums about these mythical 2K, 3 second tick speed, 96m area poisons which hit 30 people at once. (And I am *not* exaggerating about that either.) Even worse, people actually believe stories like that...

Can I help it that I want to shed light on the issues?Imagine somebody starts spreading rumors about scatter shot 2 on the Jedi forum, and you happen to stumble across it...

Oh, and 9,788 more to go...

HEHE, nice one about ScatterShot2....

But the facts were never really misled in THIS Forum about CM's......and I totally see you point and the facts you bring up are true....EXCEPT you never admit that the CM is 99% of the time the hinge point in a PvP battle. And that my friend is NOT balance, which is NOT your fault or any CM's fault.....blame SOE....

I don't accept "you can counter CMs like this" arguments defending CMs. The class is completely unbalanced at the moment regardless of what you do to counter them. Its because of the extremes that you have to go to, to counter CMs that make the class unbalanced. You shouldn't have to be a doc to compete in PvP.

And scattershot 2 wasn't a rumor. Before it was fixed on TS I could take down any jedi with ease, even council members.

With posts like this, can you really blame me for wanting to respond to them... Suffice it to say, there is a standard response to this. I also almost responded to TAfirehawks post with it,including your reply to it, and the counter reply...

As for the comment about scattershot, that was just an example. I was pointing out the motivation for responding to a comment about combat medics in the carbineer forums, rather than referring to a specific example.

I'd have to say that 250-500 of my post count is anti-CM flames. Another250 was pro-CM back when I was a CM many months ago

Fremen is right, Talie does own in PvP.

Course, Talie is a Master Carbineer/Master FENCER. lol

But, his guild is also very good, so the fencer thing ain't all that, cept for the defenses it gives.

The only people I have a problem beating are CM's and Docs. CM's cuz, we all know why, and Doc's cuz they always heal my states. Buggers.

But TKA's Riflemen, Fencers, BH's, Commando's, Poor poor pistoleers, Swordsman. All fall to my DXR6 carbine quite regularly. (I love it when they think their PSG makes them unstoppable)

The way I see PvP right now is that the only decent class is combat medic.

The exception to this are those players lucky enough to have mind poison or fire DOT weapons.

It is unfortunate, but the only way to kill most players is with poison.

All I can say is live on the other side for awhile and your attitude will change.....

And please note where I put the fault...on the Devs, not the CM's for the current situation. And IF everything was working fine then 1) why is nobody PvP'ing and 2) why are the Devs doing the Combat Balance.

But hey, this is the Carbineer Forum so if you want some CM love, don't expect it here....

Just to point out, I have been hit by poisons as much as I have poisoned others with them. I assume this is what you meant about life on the other side. And I have my own opinions of them, which I won't get into here...

I'm not expecting "CM love", I just don't like the random CM bashing that pops up here and there. Some complaints are verytrue and applicable, but many of them are not... And regardless of which, it's never as simple as a 2 sentence post will explain.

As I said, imagine a post about scatter shot appeared on the Jedi forums, or creature handlers were talking about how broken charge shot was because somebody could spam it and keep a pet down forever...

But enoughexplaining myself. Now for something completely different.
