Not to be exceptionally naive, but how can you tell it's a fake? I don't really see anything unusual about it, except for perhaps the abruptness of the stock image change right above the left part of the trigger guard, and that doesn't look too unusual. The mini-icon in the inventory also looks a hair different than the gun image in the window, but not so different that I wouldn't believe it.
Is there some dead give away I'm missing somewhere? Somebody mentioned there is"no defining line", what does that mean?

The image on the right is clearly photoshopped, but I can't really see anything in the stats area that stands out as being edited. If they did, they did a great job of matching the text to the actual in game text.
I'll believe you when you say it's photoshopped, but like I said, how can you tell? Is there any dead give away? Do you just recognize parts from other guns? When I look at it, it looks fine to me... ![]()

Look at the lower left part of the grip, the lighter colored area. It's very pixilated, not matching the rest of the examine window. Also, it just has that cropped look to it. Having experiance with photo editing software (I used to design graphics for a living), it just has that "has been edited" feel to it, something we try to avoid when editing things. You don't want it to seem like it has been touched up, very similar to puting makeup on an actor.

I also think it's been photoshopped. The lower left protion of the handle doesn't look quite right if you zoom in on it and the diaginal line running though the handle looks as though some pixels have been altered. Also in the area just behind where the handle meets the body of the wepon there appear to be some inconsistancies in the coloring pattern. I'll will say it looks like a pretty good job. hope I'm wrong though this would be a great addition to our arsenal.

I don't buy it.
Doesn't even look like the same gun in the inventory slot.

My god if you got lucky you could get that carbine to over 624 max.

It's fake. The devs hate carbineers. Why would they give us something good?

looks to good to be true. and i don't remember where, but the devs said a while back that they had no plans to give us anymore guns til well after the combat rebalance. they said something along the lines of once the balance is out the weapons will be much more varied and work better depending on your skill with the weapon.

I'm leaning towards real b/c of the damage. It's like the EE3 but no Radius mod. But I don't understand how nobody else would know about this gun.

im definitly leaning towards real....
because of how the yellow inventory bars shine through behind the stats page of the gun....
i highly doubt he sat there perfecting its opacity....

I belive it is a fake. It looks very real to me, BUT there is no serial number. If I'm not mistaken EVERY weapon looted or not has a serial number. Even with looted subcomponets they have serial numbers, or if they are buged they have the serial number line but no number listed. I may be wrong, other than that though it looks real to me.

I asked for some developer insight into whether this is real or fake (Wednesday) and recieved no answer.
I think since the picture appears doctored to those that know how to detect such things and that is appears to be a one of the kind, we should treat this as a fake until a second one surfaces.
