Sorry MBT i was not picking on you, it is just that Phadbacca was kind enough to point out the 10 second thing to me and i now feel obligated to correct people who come into our forums and say 'dood i was hit by a poison that ticked for 2,500 damage every 3 seconds! when are CMs gonna realize they need to be nerfed?!?!? **EDIT**'
i think it helps to bring things into perspective when people realize a poison will only tick 6 times in one minute and a disease will only tick ONCE within the first minute and ONCE within the second minute and a total of 4 times by the END of the third minute. Three minutes in a PvP battle is an eternity (if one does not agree, think about what would happen if you were knocked down for three full minutes, or could not fire your weapon for three full minutes, or just had to stand by and do NOTHING for three full minutes of combat. if you want to realize the value of three SECONDS talk to the poor sob who forgot to put on a stun protection helm when fighting a Master Rifleman with an Ion rifle)
at any rate, i was not picking on your numbers Breeze, but pointing out to the original poster that he was missinformed about the frequency with which poisons tick

But right now i got hit with a 699 wounds to my mind with an area effect dease that got half my group
That is not a common disease. The only way that kind of wounding can be done is with high BF. If you don't take care of your BF than that's your problem not ours...
The high end prenerf spider venom will allow cm's to make a disease that will do that much damage.
Im not saying you are the ONLY skill that is over powered there are many but completly making my mind pool into wounds in 8 seconds is disguisting
can you tell me what other profession can do that??
Riflemen, BHs spamming /eyeshot , TKAs spamming /unarmedheadhit1...
No class can completely turn your mind into wounds in 8 seconds. Even if your mind pool was on the small side and the cm was using the best disease in the game it would still take 40 seconds to do the job.
Incidently, if youre refering to poisons then the tick is 10 seconds the mind is damaged, not wounded.
and yes we had 2 doctors running around curing everyone but by the time they cured 2 people each everyone was all at 1 mind
Like I said there are exceptional poisons and it sounds like you got hit by one. This however is not the average. The average CM on any server does at most 400 a tic. That is average. Other servers have better resources and so are able to make better poisons. However, you should not base a damage nerf on CMs that blow the curve for damage just because they put alot of effort into it. You would otherwise condemn the less fortunate less than average CM to 10-15 DPS poison....
Yes this is a problem but I would say that the doctors are to weak, not that the cm's are too strong. I think that the doctors need to have a point blank 10m AOE poison cures to go along with thier singles.

I went out hunting with some friends last night. I was doing about 50/tick and thats on top of a 1/10 success rate. CMs arent as powerful as everyone thinks when I comes to PvE, well at least my current level.

What's with the 1/10 success rate? I never had that problem.

Ranged Defence, Melee Defence, Ranged Accuracy, and Ranged Speed? I understand that currently there are no caps to the numbers themselves, but what abot soft caps? A point that improving the skill has diminishing returns (no longer provides a significant return for points placed into it).
Anyone done testing on this?
Especially considering Accuracy = more damage if its above the def of the target.

We don't have any formulas yet. Your best bet is to check out the sticky titled Carbineer Specials Test Data.
I'm getting the impression that it's not rally how much accuracy you have that's important per se, but that it's actually how much accuracy you have over your opponents defense. So the soft cap will fluctuate according to who your fighting. And, considering the insane amounts of defense some professions can amass.... who knows
