You are correct, when you are a master pistoleer lets say, it is better to get a pistol that does very high damage rather than very fast.

It's my understanding that a weapon will only fire, at most, once per second. If this is correct, at master level of a ranged profession, you are going to be firing at once per second whether your weapon speed is 2.2 or 1.3.
The real question here is why would I pay to have a weapon (mostly pistols) sliced for a fast speed instead of damage? Is there really a benefit to that?
I can certainly understand speed mods for rifles and heavy weapons that have a speed of 5+, for example, but doesn't make sense to me when people want their FWG5's, Scatters, etc, sliced for a real low speed.
Please point out any flawed thinking, appreciate any help.

Hello
i feel a bit confused with stacking of weapon speed and Fencer weapon speed bonus.
can someone remind me how to calculate final attack speed for Fencer?
as far as i remember the cap is 1 second.
How does it fit with speed of weapon itself and Fencer Weapon Speed bonus? Is there any sense in using speed sliced weapon as Fencer when i have big weapon speed bonus.
My concern is that i hesitate to use Gaffi stick because it usually very slow(4sec) compared to a sword(1+sec). It has considerably higher damage though. Is that gaffi slowness compensated by Fencer weapon speed bonus? Can i hit the speed cap with Gaffi? Whats final dmg output difference between them?
thanks.

Anyone know how to roughly convert the +weapon speed one has into the actual decrease in weapon attack time?

i heard that when you master a profession you dont need to get the fastest weapons cause you already are fast like lets say i bougth a 1.7 vb's but someome told me that i could have used 2.5's or more and be just as fast cause you can only be so fast with them and at master you will have alot of speed. so before i go out to spend a bunch of cash on fencer weapons i was wondering if it was true with fencers or any profession and at what speed does the speed affect youre swing or just a good speed to buy. atm i have a stun and graf. batons that have 2.5 speed and both are 133-220 dmg range.

The speed won't change much, but you should still go for the damage, make sure the speed is less than 2.8.

A Master Fencer has +90 one-handed weapon speed.
A Master Brawler adds +5 to that total.
All you need is +5 speed in attachments and at +100 every single attack you make, no matter how slow the one-handed weapon you use, will take 1 second.

only if you have a 4.3 speed weapon or higher and if you do you got ripped off. even a 5k stun baton/gaffi are 3.5 spd or better.

A master fencer has no reason to spend money on speed attachments my slowest fencer weapon was a acklay gaffi with a spd of 4 and even that i swung at cap.

Does anyone know how to calculate final attack speed based on weapon speed and your skill mod? I heard attack speed was capped at 1 second, so I'm wondering what's the slowest weapon I can use and still hit the cap given my skill mod.
