Ranger/Carbineer works very well. Fast weapon speed makes all the difference.

*cough* computer ready yet? *cough*

HI mate
Wasn't showing off, honest! Just wanted to know if I could get a better carb than that for doing a quest, honest

As for computer - nope not ready yet No word on those bloomin' hard drives, so no word on the laptop. I could downgrade the hard drives and get the thing sent to me. Although I'm letting it be for now, as I keep day dreaming about building myself a water cooled PC. ThermalTake Armor looks like a good chassis Really a DTR laptop would be more suitable for my lifestyle just now, but the thougth of getting a more powerful tower unit, overclocking it, and getting it all liquid cooled is awesome

Ah, ok mate, well see you soon hopefully

Getting back on topic... for once.. that carb looks nice, I think the damage cap un-pupped is 1063 for carbines so I think Nalai (once again) hit the cap I have an E11 mk II that has max damage 1039, however this was a pre CU sliced/looted carbine and so has a horrible, horrible SAC.

I'm going to try looting some decent krayt tissues for a new one, or maybe look for a decent Slugthrower on the bazaar to slice and powerup for kinetic damage.

As it stands, I'm currently having fun with carbineer (almost as much fun as with swordsman pre CU ) and I'll more than likely be coming back to ranger before the changes hit. I am going to try out the SL changes first though

That is a really nice carbine.

I picked up one, after I had it damaged and speed sliced it hit for 1046 (the Slice cap) and has a SAC of 73, The AS is under 2.0 don't recall the exact spped.

But that is nice carbine. I keep mine SAC pupped down to 50 or 55, eat blob candy every 45 minutes and work over my targets. When I had Master Rifles I mostly used Max Damge Pups but since I switched to carbines SAC pups have been my friend.

thats a fine weapon you got there.. i just picked up an elite mark II and am getting barely under 400dps... however, im finding that i gotta switch to a crappy carbine just to avoid agro in a group.

Just thinking of switching my template, once again lol ...is ranger/carbineer an effective template? the KD, snares+Pdart look good lol ....plus the range is good for trap throwing. I hunt alot of krayts/gdk etc ...so will ranger/carbineer be able to support this?

I've been a master ranger / master carbineer since the CU, and it's a very good template. All I would add to the above is to finish the siren quest and get yourself a bothan bola special ops carbine. It does really good damage, even better when sliced.

What sort of stats and damage type do those carbines have, Iseult?
Are they as good as this?

Sweet! The bola is about the same overall, maybe a little worse - maximum damage is lower and there's no accuracy bonus. But speed sliced, dps is higher. Here is a screeny of mine. I usually use an SAC lowering powerup on it, which hurts on accuracy, but lets me shoot it forever.

Oh I also have a +13 carbine speed CA, so that might be driving the dps in the screeny up.

I have to say I really like the look of it. With me being a Wookiee (in game!), I fancy it with having wooden parts, plus with the new Ranger role it seems the part being a "spec ops" weapon. I think I may make that my first project when I get back in game.

Thanks for the heads up!

(Note: I've been unable to play for two months because my Athlon PC died, all I have now is a 500MHz K6-2 PC. I've got a desktop replacement laptop on order but I'm still waiting for it - It's like the AlienWare 7700 but it's a British brand and has better specs!).

Yeah that's the daft thing about the hate system, I those situations I can't see the sense in it.

Anyway, as for the Carbine, the best part is that I only paid 700K for it

i don't have a screenshot of my elite carbine but stats are something like:

2.17 Speed
450-1063 damage
20% wound
+52 Accuracy
SAC 73

its speed sliced, i use a sac powerup, i can keep firing specials forever.

Well Last night I was playing around some with my carbines.

I have DXR for 65 meters range and used for pulling things onlySAC 91.

Elite Carbine MKII SAC 75 unpupped 481-1046 max damage. SAC pupped 50ish.

Nym Slughthrower 351-717 175 Elemental damge SAC 83. SAC pupped 55ish?

Now with a SAC pup and eating blob candy (Action Regen 172, for 45 minutes), and drinking Caf(boosted health +150, mind regen +100), with or without pixie(action boost +20%)or booster blue (action boost +20%)I can manage a non stop firefight with these carbines. Spamming specials if I choose.

Last night I made a new run of Damage pups so I went to the Avatar Platform to test. After much pain and a few incaps I found I could manage a 75 SAC carbine with a Damage pup with ease. But the DXR with a 91 SAC made prolonged fights hard, winnable but hard.

So I go looking for Nighsisters to see how well a prolonged fight will last with a CL80-85 NPC. Again the DXR (SAC91) ate through my action not good for kiting and a prolonged fight. I switched to my NYM much better (SAC 83) easier and able to manage Action better. Switch over to my Elite Carbine MKII (SAC 75) able to spam all through the battle with several Stalkers, Sentinels, Rangers, Protectors.

So I am quickly figuring out max damage is nice but SAC is a major factor in my purchase of a carbine from now on. A low SAC carbine means I can speed pup it or Damage pup it. Well that and rot my teeth out eating blob candy and booster blue.

Since we are doing the 'who has the biggest gun' thing, I snagged a 320 dps, unsliced, Elite Carbine last night that my alt sliced up to 348 dps . 94 SAC...is that good?
