Thread: Wow, look at the variety.....
Well, the reason I complain about what we get compaired to what everyone else is getting is because we have to be kept up to par with everyone else. If we weren't everyone would go to such and such profession because they get all the cool stuff. You have to look at all aspects of the game, all classes of the game... and then compare. Not to say some weapons will make one class better or worse, or abilities... ect. But you have to stay up to par with everyone else or all the carbineers *for example only, not stating facts* will all jump ship for the class that's getting the cool weapons! Everyone deserves an equal amount of neat little things that makes the class enjoyable. I love carbineer, don't get me wrong... don't think I would rather be anything else. But I am only stating that I wish we could get as much content with weapons as everyone else is getting. Those of you who think comparing one profession to another profession... who gets what, is wrong... tough, that's your opinion and we all know the saying. I'm not gonna bother saying it here, but you all know it. We deserve some new weapons in my *opinion* and that's all there is to it. Flame me if you want... you're only showing your ignorance. For those of you who didn't flame me, thanks for posting your thoughts... kinda nice to see what everyone elses standpoint is on the issue.

When you take a support role with carbineer what kind of weapons are you expecting to get? Not our fault you chose to go medic over another ranged prof to get more cert, you even had 3 weeks to change. "oh butI want to keep my medic skills" well dont expect a huge variety of weapons then.
PS - i have a pikeman as well and each one of the new pikes suck, so know your stats before comparing. A good WS can make an better carbines then the proton.
The proton's main advantage is the low SAC cost so you can spam high dmg specials allllll day, however it is possible for a good WS to craft a more powerful carbine, though the SAC will no doubt be higher.
Also the proton decays fast, so i ADKd mine, puped and sliced it. Problem solved, run jedi run.

I just did some testing earlier as a result of this debate and it was interesting... I tested the difference between my proton and a new elite carbine. The DPS numbers on the proton were listed as over 100 points higher than the elite, but the proton never outdamaged the elite during my testing... the elite was doing about 80 points more damage per shot. The SAC of the proton was 85 and the elite's was 75! Now, there was a minor speed advantage to the proton carbine, but I'm not sure that makes a big difference when you are mostly using high power specials with cooldowns. I don't know why but the end result damage of the proton seems lower than its damage and DPS numbers would indicate... and the elite I have seems to outperform it in the field.
Even if you are going for a low action cost weapon to spam with in firefights... my elite still wins that contest against the proton.
The only wildcard is elemental damage, but I have no clue what stats mobs and NPC's have, and I've never been able to tell if any of the elemenal types have shown any effect yet... I don't even know if it is working or if there are resists/vulnerabilities out there to exploit at this point.

That's one wasted ADK/Proton Carbine. Had to delete mine to get my ADK back to use on my 73 SAC / 980 max dam E11 MarkII.
Well its not like the proton carbine is expensive or hard to get, and I never EVER see good carbines on vendors.
