yah before i went carbeener and i was a pistoleer, this one dude on my server, he makes krayt republic blasters 1.3 speed 209-483 UNSLICED, yah it seems impossible, but he makes them, its crazy, but i guess soem servers make better stuff then others

well i used to be a master weaponsmith i have about 9 million left, i had 30 million at one point, most of my weapons are the best possible,

370 or so damagelaser carbine isn't even krayt, I normall carry 350 damage laser carbine only decent damage slice. those are only 10k each.


buy like 5, get all slice you will get a good damage slice one.

Here is the deal. For everyone who has their heads in the sand and wants to pretend like HAM etc. is not an issue for carbines.

Carbineers:


Problem #1:


HAM costs are too high for carbine special moves. This is actually a problem with the carbine weapons.


Solution #1:


Once we implement the speed limiters for all classes, I would like to reduce the HAM costs. This could be done by modifying new weapons, the actual move data, or a combination. I’m not sure which is the best approach, but I’m leaning towards modification of the moves as it will be less disruptive for existing weapons

So. There we have it. The issue of HAM (and some others) has been adressed. Granted the post is old as dirt and nothing ever seems to get fixed with any speed. However, our issue of HAM cost has been acknowledged by the people who make the game.

You see. The opinion that there are things wrong with this class is validated. Particularly in reference to HAM costs. In these cases, when someone says "Its A.O.K., I can do blah blah blah and x, y, z. There can't be anything wrong with carbines cuz I roxxor YO!" - well, in these casespeople stating such are WRONG. The people that make this game say so, not just us whiners.


Go scream at a wall or something. It would be more productive.

The entirety of the posts appeal to the masses, yes. The points I quoted appeals specifically to Carbineers. As we all know, carbineers no where near make up the masses.


While the first is from Spetember, the second is from last week or so. The combat proposals change is FAR more than just one brush off sentence. Now, the idea that it was a brush off none the less occurs to me every time I log in and then some.


The point being, no matter what anyone wants to imply, we do have problems. Absolutely, there are workarounds. Food, spice, buffs, etc. I have 0 problem using the workarounds to get the job done. I do not like having to do so when everyone else does not have to do so. Such is the way of SWG life, I suppose. I'm not the greatest carbineer, nor am I master yet. I do, however, get the job done more often than not (though as of late, I have been less then succesful in solo PvP).


It drives me nuts when people slap on a novice carbineer tag, get the best possible guns and so on, buffs to no end, and all the money they could shake a stick at - just to come here and say there isn't anything wrong with the class. That is just plain false. Congrats on your gear, money, and so on. You worked hard for it. I do not discount your ability in attaining these things. Just understand that not everyone is at that point. Not everyone can afford crates of every food, a pocket doc for buffs EVERY time they need them and so on. Some of us have been hacking through this class since beta. I know the in game fixes. I also recognize there are problems.


As a side note, from the readings, it does not appear our HAM costs will even be adressed even when combat changes go in (speed caps etc.). I believe combat changes are going in after vehicles? Or that is the "anticipated" timetable. So maybe HAM fixes after that? Maybe we can hope TH's play in carbines will get the HAM adjustments in when combat changes go in. Who knows, it is REALLY a guessing game. More than anything else, THAT is my real problem with this game. I believe SWG is on track to get things in order in a longer time table than Anarchy Online. Scarey thought.

of course a great weapon helps, but not everyone can afford such a weapon, and on my server "uber resources" are simply not available. carbineers should not have to rely on "uber weapons" to make our class *work*, nor should we need buffs or anything similar. these things should be enhancements, not necessity.

I should change my signature. but i'm master carbineer.


I have 3 mil credit, I have a reserve 450 damage krayt laser cause me nothing since I provide the tissue and slice the weapon myself when I was a master smuggler.


but assuming they lower the ham cost to comparable to pistoleer. now template like what I use Bh 0/0/3/0 and master carbineer will have no ham cost problem at all. and does 3-4x more damage than either rifleman or pistoleer. I think that provide a Huge balance issue.

They will be implementing speed caps though. So we won't all be firing at 1 second.


Also, I do not think we need to be at same level of HAM costs as pistols. Our HAM costs are too high, however they should be higher then pistols.The problematic situation you describe also assumes we take up BH skills. That equates to buffs and "in game" workarounds, imo.


At any rate, nest of luck. I just want the costs down, not at 0.

Seriously. Being able to state problems and concerns is far better than the screaming and cursing attitude. Not everyone can agree, but mayhaps we can all see the middle ground from atop our castles?


And hey, at least we're not Droid Engineers. Maybe we could pool our efforts and make fun of those guys instead?

To Donneysabertooth: Welcome to a well kept secret. The carbineer class is fun and effective, and is still 1/2 broke.


To everyone whining about the guns: You are silly. Get some tatooine sunburn and use it before you whine about having to be buffed about doctors. Tatooine sunburn is the key. Don't ask silly questions. Just use it and fight and come back and tell me about it.


The carbineer class is only looking to improve. I don't think we would be unbalanced with low HAM costs. If you've seen commandos do 7k hits with a decent 1k+ max dmg flamethrower you wouldn't feel bad at all.


Your weapon makes the biggest difference. If your server doesn't have amazing stat weapons, get lots of decent ones, get them sliced, and use powerups. Then what you have the best that you can do for that server and thats that. I'm using a dmg sliced non-krayt laser carbine on Chilastra that is 60-340 3.6 spd. Cost 8k for the carbine, 2.5k for the slice, and a 2k for a crate of 10 30% dmg powerups.


Tatooine sunburn costs about 600 cr for a stack of 8, each one lasts for 5 minutes (usually the length of a good firefight).


End of story!

im going to start master doc and master carbine in ur server these guns are awsome ...... my best carbine is 1.8 speed sliced and speed powerups ..and i have no words about ur other guns they all good
