Thread: What's so bad about a BH/Carbiner?

The lack of defenses is definetly a major downfall, however the supposed combat revamp really should fix that. I think that before the combat revamp I'll mess around with carbiner to see how it plays for me, but in PVP I always play the agressor and try to keep them state infected and on the ground with BH, your pistol speed is maxed in the BH tree alone, with enough accuracy mods to make a MBH formidable with pistols....although many will disagree with me...the LLC line is great in PVE and if you can land a solid fire KD on someone you can usually 1 shot kill a unarmored person on the ground with Light Spec 2. Which leaves carbines, that while useful in the BH tree, could be a far more lethal tree when combined with the versatility of the carbiner specialty. I've mastered BH twice, once back when it took 217 skill points to master and once after the skillpoint reduction, so I'm used to not having my defenses stacked.

master BH master Carbiner or BH carbines master carbineer is a waste of skillpoints in my opinion

If you have some speed tapes Bh carbines is useless

Thanks for helping a Bh decide what ranged prof to go into. I am BH 2/4/4/4, Pistoleer 0/0/1/2, and Medic 0/0/1/0. I was bouncing back and forth b/w Carbineer and Pistoleer, but I like the specials in Carbineer and the added accuracy and speeed with it. Plus, if I"m going to go BH, then I'm going to want to accept Jedi Missions. However, I KNOW that they are UBER and very difficult to kill. I know pistoleer gives great defense but it is in close range - close range of a SABER that will spank just about anyone other than a def. stacker (even then).

So my thing is...if i'm going to fight Jedi, then I need to be able to HIT Jedi from a distance and get an early advantage.

What do you guys/gals think about my logic?????

Does anyone know if fire knockdown from BH carbines lights the target on fire like torso shot does?

NOTE: Fire KD does NOT light them on fire...but it is supposed to. Of course, the CB will change that. I hope.

I can't remember myself KDing a krayt with something else than fire KD, it's hard to land the KD, but it does actually land sometimes.

1) BH Carbines/ Master Carbineer is VERY useful, if you cannot afford the skill tapes, because you add some very handy specials and loads of accuracy.

2) If you do have speed tapes, BH Carbines is a waste of SP unless you get a 4.0 speed Carbine and don't want to pup it.

FireKD is a worthwhile shot even without the DOT, though. Its an ultrareliable stand in for ChargeShot1, leaving ChargeShot2 for group love.

In response to the first post, I tried BH/Master Pistoleer and found it disappointing in PvE. Carbineer is far better in small scale PvE, and i use it to do Janta missions with ease. If you want to PvE as a bounty hunter, i highly recommend 3400 carbineer in addition to bounty hunter, speed caps you and gives you 170 accuracy.

Now someone said Bounty Carbines was worthless with good tapes? Bounty Carbines is very useful for the specials. FKD is a reliable special that has the chance to dizzy and works well in PvE. I use 2x confusion shot (to make sure the stun and dizzy stick) FKD, spam crippling shot and it works really well against npc's and creatures. I have soloed a lot of stuff just running around Endor using nothing but this. Works well for single targets, butwhen i aggro a group of critters,I cut to carbineer speicals action shot 2 for PD and then Burst shot 2 for damage. When i get Master Bounty Hunter (again lol) im gonna switch from confusion shot to Spray Shot, which can stick a blind on the target as well. Bounty Hunter has better state attacks, while carbineer has the damage specials. They compliement each other very well.

And as far as carbine xp, i can rack up 355k xp an hour on a good night using nothing but this...

Maybe i should convert it to FS xp lol.

Actually the description only says that it knock's down a target with a burst of fire. Fire may mean "incoming fire" and hot the hot stuff we cook hotdogs with. Torso shot is the only one that actually saw's it will catch someone on fire...but its in the pistols tree

The thing about fire/KD thats kinda funny is that even if you dont land the KD portion the dizzy often sticks. More than once I've had a humanoid npc take the dizzy and no KD only to try and go prone and start flopping on his/her own.

Tip of the day part 2: Dont use chargeshot2 (or any AOE/cone attack) in the DWB. You will hate life, and your group will hate you.
