Anyone having horrible accuracy lately? I'll be crouching with a +50 target and miss 4 times in a row with specials......most notibly action shot 1

Thought I'd let this thread simmer for a while before throwing out my opinion of our Top 5, which is what I think the community as a whole thinks is also most important (the BH issue is an issue for another day, frankly). I hope I didn't miss the deadline, SOJ



  1. LegShot3, BurstShot2, and CrippleShot (and others) need to be examined for their effectiveness over their predecessor skills - Stopping at 2/0/1/2 in the tree makes you pretty much as effective as a Master, in terms of specials

  2. Consistent spelling of Carbineer - Not critical, but *very* easy to do and would be a nice touch

  3. More weapons, more effective weapons later in the tree (See: DXR6 and Elite's ineffectivness)

  4. Counterattack works very rarely, and is ineffective when it does - With maxed +20 Counterattack, my opponent should think twice about shooting at me for fear of retaliation

  5. Lack of defensive modifiers to bring us inline with Pistoleer and Rifleman - Seems like something that just got overlooked

All of those changes except #3 are very very quick fixes that provide major benefit. That should be the focus of the first round of updating, not major overhauls just yet

As for the deadline, I'm going to send in my report tomorrow night. I figure that is plenty of time for everyone to read and write out their issues.

As for the lack of defensive bonuses in the carbine line, I would be fine with that if in place of defensive bonus we got our specials pumped out to deal some major damage. If we arent defensive, then seems we should be very offensive in nature.


I dont see carbineers as very defensive in nature, I see them as essential assault troopers, so we should dish out lots of damage instead. Just my thought.


Counterattack needs to be looked at defintly.

We need our Melee and Ranged defense increased and also our Carbine Aim , that is for starters

my 5


1. BH carbine tree is better than our entire class. add some carbine speed/acuracy to our trees or remove some from BH's this is our JOB its just 1 of the BH skills and yet they are better at it.


2. mid to high lvl special attacks.. there is no differece


3. lack of weapon choice, our high lvl weapons are crap. also carbiners have the least amount to choose from


4. special cost needs to be slightly reduced to be more competative with pistoleer, for that matter pistoleer max range shooting with +90% acuuracy needs to be changed, if not then it kinda makes our class moot since their specials are better, and can be used indefinately with low ham drain.


5. thats all i can think of, dont mind the pistoleer/bh parts i just hate knowing i play a classs thats broken

1. Special Moves (Legshot3, Burst Shot2, Crippling Shot) might as well throw Chraged Shot 2 in there because I have my doubts it works either.


2. Ham costs


3. Defensive modifiers/Counter Attack


4. Master Carbineer- Give cert at master carbineer to make it more appealing. Master Carbineer needs more, atm it's not worth pursuing.


5. Movement pause while running and shooting is annoying when combat is initiated.

Personally, from my experience so far, the biggest thing that needs fixing for Carbineers is really the ridiculous HAM cost. That aside, the only other thing that needs fixing is the broken skills (e.g. LegShot3.) It really won't hurt to have increased speed bonuses in the Carbine Assault Tactics line though but that might be asking for too much. Having maxed the BH Carbine line, I have to say that the +50 carbine speed bonus is really sickeningly good and I would love to see that in the Carbineer profession. Right now, my 4.0 spd my laser carbine is firing at about twice the rate of the best CDEF carbine and I have not even trained my Assault Tactics line yet.


The Carbineer profession will be very powerful with the first two fixes above. I really don't think we need more defensive bonuses. We can inflict some massive damage, and have any of you tried Charge Shot 1? I've hunted down at least 100 bounty targets so far with that and not once has that skill been resisted! I think it's powerful (balanced by the very high HAM cost) and makes the whole profession stand out!I really don't think we need too much help really. A minor upgrade to the speed bonuses in the Assault Tactics line would be nice though! Just my 2 cents...

Ok, from reading the following posts, I have determined that the top most issues are as follows:



  1. Specials such as LegShot3, BurstShot2, Crippling Shot, SupressionFire 2 are not working properly and/or not performing as well as their predecessors. No skills achieved at master along with the upgradesnot performing as well as they should which gives little reason to master.

  2. Carbine HAM issue: Carbines having too high HAM costs that do not compare to the pistol or rifle. This also applies to carbines that do not require stocks.

  3. The Defense Modifications of carbineers do not match those of the Pistoleer or Riflemen and should be increased/changed. Counterattack, a defensive move, does not work well and needs to be examined for it's effectiveness.

  4. The ineffectiveness of some weapons (such as the elite carbine and DXR6) leaves little room for variety. Other, stronger weapons need to be changed to compete with other carbines so that one or two carbines don't dominate. In other words, stronger (higher cert) carbines should be changed so that there is a reason to pick one up over a DH17 or Laser Carbine.

  5. Consistent spelling of the profession "Carbineer."


From looking at all the posts those are the issues thatmost people could agree on. If you do not approve of something please tell me. Otherwise, I will be sending this list in later tonight. Thanks to all that replied.

1) Unreasonably high HAM cost on all carbines, not just carbines mistakenly using a stock. The elite carbine is only 10 or so less ham than the bugged DH17's


2) low accurancy modifications.


3) little defensive bonuses. our main defense was knockdown, which made since as our primary shots are in the legs. but this was nerfed so people get up faster, and will not be knocked down again right away, this causes us to use more inlated HAM shots, and reduces our only method of defense.


4) few varity of carbines


5) Elite carbine has to low max damage.

2) Some seemingly worthless Carbines


I'm not advanced enough to comment more but those 2 seem to be common complaints from everyone.
