Great post! Very informative to me. Now I know which branches to work on. Some things I have found out myself though:

In extensive experimentation, I have seen ActionShot2 bleed multiple targets at once almost everytime. It only appears to not bleed when the prime target is unaffected by the attack (either dodges, counterattacks, etc.).

I have also varified that AS1 and AS2 bleeds do indeed stack on an apparently random basis i.e the bleeds do stack but not everytime and I can determine no reason why they stack in one instance and not in another.

I find:

Leg Shot 3 never does greater damage than Leg Shot 2 can do, I'm not sure if maybe the reason to use it is because of a lower HAM cost...

Action Shot 2 almost always causes all targets to bleed. Very rarely has it not for me.

Action Shot 1 & 2 almost always cause a knockdown, but Suppresion Fire 1 never ever does. (something definately bugged here, I can solo almost as well as a creature handler)

Supression Fire 1 works but it will not work on non-humanoid mobs or mobs that con yellow or higher, havent tested it on white cons, but it does work on blue mobs.

its totally useless as it might cause its victim to lose an attack by replacing the next attack with a posture change but it also would give them a defense and accuracy bonus. I wonder who the rocket scientist that came up with this special was?

I'd like to disgaree on some of these and may shed some other light on these. One thing that many many many people don't understand is something called armor levels. Weapons and armor have Armor Levels from 0-3. If your weapon has a better armor level (think of it as piercing) than your opponent's armor, you will do more damage. (you get a 25% bonus to every level you exceed your target, and all player crafted armor is level 1 armor). So, when people talk about damage, they should remember this.

The laser carbine is the only level 2 weapon we get. The Elite and E11 are level 1. The DXR6 is also level 1, but is an acid weapon, not energy, so effects are different. Finally, the EE3 has no levels, but is heat based.

I'm not an expert carbineer by any means, but I do have about 500,000 carbineer xp. The best damage attack I have is the FullAutoSingle2 (yeah, not even a carbineer skill). It does about 5.4x the damage of my weapon at max. Meaning, my 221 damage laser carbine approaches 1200 points of damage on many of the mobs. The best I've gotten fromany other skill is 800 for the FullActionShot2 and 650 with LegShot3. FullAuto has a chance of 100% to impair a mob. The reason some of you notice it doesn't work this way is either you missed, or the mob has resistance in this category. A mob with 10% resistance will make you hit 90% of the time.

LegShot3 in my opinion is screwed up. From what the strategy guide says, this skill is supposed to do the same damage as LegShot2, but should be a cone attack. Meaning, multiple mobs. It's also supposed to do some posture changes as well. And there is no stat cost change for me between LS2 and LS3.

Resists affect damage, not your chance to hit. It's not surprising that FullAuto does more damage than the others, because it hits a random pool. It's the same way with all weapons I think. Although, the numbers you sited for legshot do seem kind of low.

I meant resists to things such as dizzy, stun, knockdown, etc. These are "to-hit" resists, not damage.

Thank you for the info guys, although in my case, I read this a few days to late. I discovered the Action Shot 2 AOE from trial and error on my 2 soloing macros. I switched it back to AS1 although I do like the AOE for creatures that aggro in groups. I am a fairly recent Novice Carbineer, so I am not up any of the trees yet. I currently use 2 macros religiously. When hunting I go prone, mask scent and drop my standard macro. Leg shot 2, Action Shot 1, Leg shot 2. I am using an E11 with good HAM stats and a 3.1 refire rate, so I can run this macro continuously and the MOBjust recovers from the lowering effect of the first Action Shot, to be hit by the second one in the loop. This macro I use 95% of the time and I have a "breathing room" macro of Warning Shot, Action Shot 1, Leg Shot, if the Action shot from the previous macro doesn't take and the MOB closes in. When I first received Action Shot 1 I started using this and hunting conned red creatures. For theMasters in here, is there a moreefficient combo out there? This was by far the most successful combo for me.

I started hunting Humbalas (sorry for spelling)on Corellia, for both Carbine and Scout XP (Harvesting). Although this is time consuming, about3 or4 mins for a single kill, the 800 carbine XP and 200 scout XP were worth it. Also the second herd I ran into was even sweeter. A nearby nest of Carrion Spats would Aggro on the Humbalas, so I would pull to the nest, watch the Humbala aggro on the spats, and vice versa, and I would just bleed and legshot the Humbala while it duked it out with the Spats. This gave about 500 carbine XP a kill and the 200 scout XP for harvesting, and all in the space of 60 to 90 seconds.

Anyway any future tips or combos are appreciated.

Why do they call it a "monthly" storyline, when you can finish it in 2 days. Shouldn't they call it a "2 day storyline, every month"?

action shot doesn't lower a creature's stance does it?

I think it does for humanoids only.

Action shot lowers posture on everything I've used it on so far, including creatures.

Actionshot1 and actionshot2 both work on humanoids and creatures. Even as a Carbine Specialist, I have lowered and pinned a Plains Hunter (evil 10K HAM cat creature on Naboo) with only Actionshot1.

From a previous post on this thread, I think it was SuppressionFire (Ranged Weapon skills) that only work on humanoids, as long as they don't con yellow or higher.

From memory, Actionshots will not lower posture if you not standing when you perform the action. e.g. if you are kneeling or prone for accuracy, Actionshots will bleed, but not lower (pin) your target.
