Speed and accurcy are my suggestions. Speed is crucial.

Honestly there are a lot of different opinions on dabbling in Carbineer.....the main reason is that it is quite difficult to be an effective Carbineer at Master, let alone dabbling....

Just curious, but do mean the above because of the nature of the profession or because of how the profession is currently implemented? Or both for that matter.

I wanted to use the carbine becasue: A) it is cool looking , B) I liked the idea of a crowd control or at least different type of weapon that wasn't just about straight damage.

Thanks for the insight.

The nature of the profession and current implementation are nearly identical at this point. It is most of our beliefs here on the Forum that the Combat Revamp will be bringing all the other profs in-line with Carbineer. This means that it is harder to dabble and solo....

The Accuracy and Speed of Carbineer as so low that you really NEED those from Skill Points, SEA's, or Mod'd weapons to be able to use some of the best Specials in the other two trees. For me with MCH, BurstShot2 is by far my most used shot, hell I use it in PvP most of the time as well.....if not using ScatterShot2 or FullAutoXX.

BTW, I like Special Abilities for the FullAuto Series more than ChargeShot1/2

Remeber that wildshot2 is AoE stun.

Fullautosingle2 has blind for when you need it.

Yeah I really need to spend some time with WildShot2......

I did for a few ER's and it seemed that ChargeShot1 KD'd better once Stun landed. But after a couple, I tried like 20 WildShot attacks and never landed Stun.....got VERY frustrated....not better than FAS2 in that case. BUT I only played with 3-4 ER's too.

Actually, I find the most reliable stun to be legshot2.

That doesn't work, at least not that I've seen. I had a full array of Doc buffs on a pet and it still didn't regen at all.

As far as Scatter goes, yeah, it can be a pain, but it does manage to stack on one stat every couple shots, so it CAN add up nicely, plus its pretty fast on the draw too.

Really, the big reason to go with the speed lineis to match it with CripplingShot, which is a huge Health hitter.

Again, he's pairing Carbineer behind Creature Handler. If he invests in decent pets with some good petstims, the states just aren't as needed.

You have something serious wrong then, because I have been buffing pets for months and months and in fact did it this weekend. And boy does it work great, light armor and 60% kin resist with about 2200 Con and Sta means I don't use Pet Stims....only heal their Mind every once in awhile.

Check the speed on ScatterShot2......

And when 55% of the CripplingShots or BurstShots hit Health, why divide it up in PvE. Time the kills on ER missions and you will see what I mean. I make the most credits/hour by using BurstShot2

Going up the Speed tree to use CripplingShot effectively is a complete WASTE. As I have demostrated MANY times, the highest DPS shot is FullAutoSingle2 until you hit the Speed Cap, which will be next to impossible in this CH/Ranger template. I still recommend getting Speed but lets go with the best DPS shots.....

And the States are HUGE for your pets life.....just me here, I have been Master Carbineer with Master Creature Handler enough to know. I also have a Master Doctor and Master Musician to assist in the process. I help other people grind on Dath and keep the bank account healthy with 38k ER missions.

I don't mean to be arguementative, but my experience is quite extensive in this area.

No problem.

I'd love to know what's going on with my pets, though. Secondary buffs have never worked for them.

I buff secondaries on pets all the time (Master Carbineer/Master Doctor). Works like a charm.

What are the stats on your pets? If they are weaker then the buffs really won't help. Even my light armor, 40% kin pet has trouble with 3-4 ER's on him at once....imagine that LOL

I normally use two 10-12k HAM pets both with light armor and 60% kinetic and have no trouble with even 4-6 Rancors

The pet I was using the buffs on was a female Kaadu.

I tanked her against bols (fantastic xp for new CH's with a decent combat profession).

She'd come out of the fight fine, but her damage absolutely did not regen on its own. She had a full array of 1800 point buffs on and her Health and Action never twitched.

Well like I said, stats make a difference or you don't "see" the advantage of buffs. Type of pet should have no difference either.

Either your pet is weak compared to mine and others, or it is bugged, either way the buffs SHOULD and often do work

PST....maybe the Devs like Nova and me better
