The first guy I fought was in a full set of composite armor. For some reason you guys have a tuff time at pvp, can I ask are there any good carbineer pvp. Am I just getting replies from a bunch of noobs, because I did great in fighting these guys. Jesus does anyone even like this game anymore.

First of all don't assume a pure carbineer is even half as good as an BH/Carbineer unless you spent millions on skilltapes. I'm not surprised you were able to beat people with your template and I know some people that do very well in pvp as a BH/Carbineer.

What is so radically different about the two? Can anyone tell me, or is it just the speed/accuracy stacking bonuses everyone wants?

Before pub 7 I guess most BH/Carbineers wanted a working dizzy special along with great speed and accurcay, atleast that's why I went for it. Dropped it pretty quickly when I realized that the extra accuracy didn't help much against the defense stackers anyway. Soon I'll have 90 carbine speed from getting master marksman along with +25 from skilltapes and with def stacking gone, working specials I don't really see the need to BH/Carbineer anymore. But as I said before a carbineer with only 60 speed isn't anything you wan't to solo pvp with, still is very nice to have as support to riflemen and other combat classes.

At one point you say you dont need bh with carbineer, but then you said you need the speed. Jeez make up your minds.

I think it's a waste of skillpoints getting it now with all the carbine specials fixed and defense stacking fixed. And you don't need BH for speed you just as easily get it with speed tapes but not everyone can afford this. I never said I didn't need the extra speed.

This is just my personal opinion and I'm sorry if I haven't been clear enough with my previous posts. In short if you wan't to be able to compete effectively in pvp you need more speed, this can be achieved with either speed tapes or getting the BH carbine tree. I prefer speed tapes myself since that leaves me with alot more skillpoints to play around.

Are your enemies:

  • Fully Buffed

  • Sporting Composite armor consisting of 80% or higher resists

  • Master Defense Stackers/FOTMers

In many of my pvp experiences, most people who know and live for pvp in this game (and succeed more often then not)have at leasttwo out of threeof those. It's DAMNED hard to kill those types with carbineer/BH carbine; granted stacks may have caps, but it's still tough to take them down, which is why carbineer will only prosper in groups in pvp and rarely alone unless their opponents are otherwise. Perhaps it's the server, but carbineers have varying success on certain servers, depending whether those servers have a lot of pvp or not. My server is drenched in pvp, so success is a rollercoaster for me; if I run into people with those three things, I'm done like dinner EVERYTIME, if I run into someone without those, I usually kill or nearly kill, more often than not.

I've fought and killed every single template this game has to offer... and it sure wasn't with my carbineer skills.

In PvP for the last 2 months i have relied almost solely on my swordsman abilities to win battles for me. Initially, i only did swordsman for the counterattack bonuses so carbineer would perhaps be better, and i was going to use swordsman as support. But from the moment i started PvPing as a MHS/Mcarbineer, i figured out that swordsman is far better in PvP. Mind damage comes to mind, as well as CoB and AP2 weapons that aren't useless.

Carbineer has indeed been made better with the special changes, but anyone who thinks that carbineer is fixed and ready to go now needs to stop with the morphine. We are far from being able to compete with riflemen, fencer, TKA, or swordsman. I can say, though, that we are now above the level of pikeman, and even pistoleer. But that still puts us in the bottom 50% of elite combat classes.

I'm doing Fencer next, because swordsman is pretty **edit**ed up too (no notable defenses other than counterattack, and since you get +110 counter with just MHS stacking it with carbs is pretty useless). But because i love swordsman and carbineer, after i do fencer and when i get tired of it i'll prolly do 2 lines of fencer, and go back to MHS/mcarbineer.

Offensive abilities only help you if you don't die in the first 10 seconds of battle. And frankly, i don't see carbineers being able to do that very well. BH/carbineers are good because they can kill people in those first 10 seconds, but i will guarantee that if a (non-pikeman) melee prof catches up with a kiting BH the BH dies. I've seen it happen to many times to count. And i've been frustrated with the ineffectiveness of carbineer in solo PvP as a whole for nearly 8 months now.

We still have a long way to go... but hopefully we will see the completion of our fixes in the upcoming combat revamps. For now, while we are much improved, carbineer isn't brilliant in PvP.

The guys I took on were melee proffesionsand one of the guys was using a gun. Considering it was like 6 to one and I was still able to kill one of the guys and hurt the other guys bad. Also they had master doctors healing them. Like I said beforeI never pvp, so I think if I do it more I can become very good.

You Are not a Carbineer, you are a BH carbineer. You do not use Carbineer specials, exept cripple, you ue Confusion, underhand, and cripple. thats mostly BH carbine. Carbineer itsself is adequate at best in PvP

I don't need to repeat myself, but you are not a Carbineer. thats final, you are a BH carbineer Hybrid, and if somebody took away your BH skills, you would switch to rifleman, i can bet my life on it

I think your either delusional or the people you were fighting were complete idiots with **edit** templates. I mean, BH/TKA/medic? there's not enough skillpoints in the game to do that and be effective.

Believe me, you haven't even hit the tip of the PvP iceberg. You start going up against PvP veterans who know all the tactics, and you'll find yourself getting killed far more than you kill others.

I know tons of people with composite armor who suck ass in PvP, so that in itself says nothing. If you can honestly tell me you can beat a Fencer or a rifleman 1v1 in PvP in an equal battle (that is to say, you both are buffed/unbuffed or armored/unarmored) then i will applaud you. But until then, i think you're making your first PvP event as a BH/carbineer WAY out of proportion. also, you have to realize that the only thing making you as good as you believe yourself to be is the BH mods. The specials you use don't matter, its the speed/accuracy mods here. I don't have anywhere NEAR the speed/accuracy that you have, so i rarely use carbines in PvP. I stick to my swords or my newly discovered favorite the stun baton (yay fencers!). If i were a BH/carbineer i'd probably do a lot better with my carbines than i do now, but i like to be able to stand still and fight people... running around annoys me.

Just putting things in perspective for you. You are not half as badass as you think. And i'm 100% sure i know more about carbineer than you do, so don't delude yourself here. Once you start PvPing on a regular basis (i.e. i've been PvPing about 85% of my time in the last 4 months) you'll realize what's good and what's not. and carbineer is not good.

but you CAN defeat pistoleers and pikemen on a regular basis...

I've beaten a few Rifleman/Fencers before

Unbuffed and unarmed, killed him in 3 seconds... Fire Knockdown, Crippling Shot x 2.

Fact is, with BH/Carbineer I have HUGE accuracy... and I guess luck kept him from dodging my attacks lol...

Also beat a Teras Kasi Master, Rifleman something (he wasn't a master yet tho)

Also beat a Teras Kasi Master, almost master Pikeman

And so far, I've pwned every swordsman I've fought

Can't beat my friend who is a Master Pistoleer/BH pistol 0-0-4-0 though... he is a complete badass

I think it's really funny that someone can say this template sucks and this template is uber... I really think the player behind it matters more...

Although I gotta say, I got one-shot killed by a rifleman in an unbuffed/unarmed fight, and it sucked a lot lol, so maybe I'm just deluding MYSELF too
