I will usually buy a pistol with a SAC in the 80s since anything below that is pretty rare in my server

As I said before 84 would be the limit I would never go over gor a pistol.....low or high ranged

I'm a weaponsmith and a bit curious about how you carbineer feel about the special attack cost on weapons. The question is simply - At what SAC do you feel that a gun is not worth buying? Whats the upper limit for a carbine to be useable?
(just generally speaking, I assume that slices, powerups, food, tapes, human sacrifices, etc, can reduce the problems with a too high SAC)

I suppose for mid range guns, anything over the pre-cu converted SAC of 84 gets you thinking, then anything over 90 puts you right off.
Anything under 70 screams "buy me!!!".

For casual and day-to-day use I'd personally say 90 is the definite maximum. 85 is at the grey border lines...
What is good then? <80. Can keep you going for long even without foods and drinks.

Hey badger... depending on the damage and speed, it could be screaming:
"I'm a piece of ####"

You cant go that wrong with speed when crafting, and max damage isnt really that importantvs high CL mobs and players with a lot of defence unless you have massive accuracy.
SAC is the main thing I look for.

My converted high-end weapons all went to 104 SAC. I've been mainly using them, and I can live with that much drain. However, I don't do much PvP, so I don't mind doing somewhere around 3-6 high drain, high damage shots and then having to revert to ranged shot for a bit of breather time. This system works fine in a group, but I imagine that if I solo'ed more, I'd have a much higher priority on SAC.
Just thought I'd give a bit different perspective than the other replies.

I would rather have a higher damage rifle with a 95ish SAC and good speed than a high damage rifle that fires insanely slow and has an extremely low SAC.
My personal feelings on SAC is that it's always something that can be powerupped.

I hate guns above 90 SAC, I just do. I use a nice SAC pupped 1131 max damage 85 sac(67 pupped) with a modded speed of less than 2. Works well. Note the pup is one without acc reduce.
