And as for the commandos. Stay moving and more than 25 m away and they will miss so much you might laugh. posture change and kd helps a lot here.

I use to be commando, and it looks like your blinded by their "poor accuracy" cries. In reality commandos get +110 accuracy with flamethrower at master. More then master pistoleers with master marksman. Their biggest range penalty is something like -110 at 64m but it drops to +0 at 50m and goes up to +10 at 0 am, making the larger part of the battlefield their playground. The only times I've noticed major misses is when useing marksman specials (pbs pba fullcharge) but when I hit with fullcharge2 it was usually a 1shot incap. And I've also hit a moving master rifleman with a RL with 1 shot, 1 shot..... I didn't bother to aim for it either, dropped him like a rock. The only reason commandos whine about accuracy is because with a 8 second delay for their best specials they notice EVERY miss.

Yeh i kinda mixed a couple things up in that post....I actualy ment scopes lol and i was a ws...no idea how i said that. I typed it up kinda quick and dident re-read it heh. But the over all point is there. Sorry bout that. But the only time pistoleers bother me is wen they kick out the eyeshots...and thats not a pistoleer. A Pistoleers best shots hit the health and body. One good chest plate negates most of these problems...well untill the geno pistols heh.

In pvp, I dance around like an attention deficient monkey on amphetamines. With my skill attachments, I have like +128 accuracy and +40 accuracy while moving. I've been able to take on multiple attackers, and my accuracy doesn't suffer noticibly, except for Charge Shot which sometimes seems to have problems hitting when I'm running.

I was wondering something over the past few days...

The general advice people give when fighting in PvP is to keep moving. Players spend a lot on accuracy while moving skill tapes.

I was wondering, in the cases where a player does not have those tapes and they are fighting a range class, are they better just kneeling to get the slight defensive bonus but then get the big accuracy bonus?

Has anyone experimented with this?

Move, move, move...it may hinder your accuracy but it will hinder your enemy's accuracy a lot mroe especially if you have an accurate carbine.

/agree
I always move in pvp unless my target is on his/her/its back.

Speaking as a current MC, this is kinda true. While we have a sporting chance of hitting a stationary target, the second something moves our accuracy is shot. The other thing you have to remember is that 90% of the time the commando attacking is going to be moving as well, further reducing accuracy. The long delay between specials is a very significant factor of consideration as well - when you're hitting 50% of the time (since both targets are likely moving) your going to die 50% of the time as well, as 10 seconds of inability to do anything but run is almost a guarantee of death.

While we're generally more accurate than pistoleers, there are some other major considerations to account for. As mentioned earlier, our speed is a big deal - you can afford to miss alot more when you're spamming specials once per second, and missing one attack won't hose you up for the remainder of combat.

As to heavy weapons, their accuracy is lower than that of the Flame thrower, and with a 50% chance of hitting your target the majority of the time (assuming they aren't a defense stacker, in which case you're as good as dead) they aren't worth the financial cost by any stretch of the imagination.

Anyways, just wanted to point out that there are valid reasons for commando complaints on accuracy (and that it's, in fact, quite easy to survive an encounter with one so long as you keep moving and out of their range.)

This does; however, point to an indication of why moving in combat is necessary. The second you stop, the enemy gains a great deal of accuracy in their attacks (and in the case of commando or melee professions, you would fall into their attack range for specials as well.) Stoppign while combatting melees, for the mostpart, is suicide as well, since they'r emost likely to come up and KD you then beat the stuffing out of you while you're on the ground.

As far as commandos go well i was in the ackie cave looking for rings. A commando came in. Some mobs spawned and he was quite mad that i won all loot rights. After a couple piles he asked "How can you be getting all loot rights". I said "because im out damaging you". Him..."but your using a carbine and my flamethrower does over 1k damage"....me "/shrug".

He left. I was using Faa2 on them with an avrage dxr6 shoting that special at about 1.2 shots a second. He probably wasent anywere near master though.

The thing about commandos in pvp that makes me not realy fear them is their damage goes to any random ham...If it hits action or health ill heal it for 2k in one stim. Their slow fire rate makes the odds of them getting a nice mind hit realy low also. Hate to say it but now that the dot is crap these guys are realy hurting pvp wise. The dot was their only way to consistantly hurt one pool on a target in any resonable time. But they still hit realy hard...if your not paying attention you will die.

If you can stay out of a dizzy/kd state the only things that can take you consistantly is a class that hits mind. Or a cm with a 1500 action poison heh...got hit with one that strong once...dident go to well lol.
