Thread: We've really got nothing to talk about...
Raystonn,
Trust me, bud.... I have sympathy for you. If you're toughing it out as a droid engineer you have my respect. However, think of all the fun you could have selling a droid chasis for house decoration! ...err.... okay... maybe you should be depressed. ![]()
I think we should start a thousand man march on the Test Center of all the screwed over professions and protest. Hahaha We should all chant "FIX US!" and see if can't crash Test Center. Let them feel our pain!
Good point, I really do wish that we'd make use of the second handle on the weapon and noticed that myself.
I noticed a rather nice carbine that was looted on the Naritus server that I figured I'd post here:

It has since been repaired up to 712, sliced and had powerups added to it to make it a really fine weapon. Wish it were mine!
Alright, I'll go post another chunk of the story for those who are reading it.
“Get everyone into the escape pods,” Cro’de announced as he fought for control over the ship. We stumbled toward the pods as hot air whipped past us and sparks sailed.
“Cro’de, let’s go!” I yelled back from the pod’s doorway.
“Negative, sir. I’ll board the last one.” I shook my head and sealed the pod door while Lliam activated the launch sequence. Seconds later we slammed into the surface of Lok.
The pod door opened and the air burned our lungs. We set off toward the crater Dogg had taken position in as fast as we could before feeling the earth shudder below our feet.
“Let’s hope Cro’de made it out alive.”
We marched rapidly toward the crater and the battle scene unfolded before us. Our troops were in a defensive stance using the rim of a crater for cover while AT-STs pounded the position. The Imperial Guardsmen were busy setting up field turrets and heavy weapons to win the war of attrition. I figured that the assassin droid IG-88 must have tracked our location and relayed it to the Imperial Guardsmen who set up the ambush on a moment’s notice. It led me to wonder if the IG in IG-88 was more than a coincidence. I did not think that IG-88 intended to ram our vessel and hoped that we had caused enough damage to its vessel during the collision to kill the damned thing once and for all.
Two AT-STs moved into a flanking position around the right edge of the crater with easily 15 troops behind them. We had to act fast to prevent Dogg’s force from being flanked and overwhelmed. Dogg had been intelligent in choosing a defensive point the AT-STs could not enter without toppling into. As our group laid down to take long shots at the approaching enemy force and hopefully distract them, Cagno, Waccabacca and Kyp came roaring out of the crater with a fury I’ve never seen from them before. Flames and rockets tore into the first AT-ST as we fired at the stunned stormtroopers from afar. The hatch flew open on top of the AT-ST and a commanding officer jumped from the metal beast just as it crashed to the ground. Cagno, Kyp and Waccabacca then turned their attention to the second AT-ST.
“Fire at the officer!” I ordered as a few blasts of return fire landed near our position. Two more AT-STs were moving in to support the stunned Imperial group. It was clear that Cagno, Kyp and Waccabacca had not seen the officer emerge from the toppled AT-ST with weapon in hand.
With deft efficiency Cagno and Kyp were blasted in the back and toppled to the ground. Waccabacca tried to hurriedly reload his weapon but it was too late, the officer opened fire and caught him in the chest.
“CHARGE!” I bellowed as our group raced in to try and kill the officer and the remaining AT-ST before it was too late. The two AT-ST reinforcements continued their march toward our fallen comrades as the officer stooped over their bodies while looking in our direction. It was at that moment that I recognized who the foe was… the infamous and capable Al’x Wren. He then held his fist in the air as if proclaiming victory and flashed a disturbing smile. It seemed painfully obvious that he had found the command key and/or detonator on Cagno. Al’x stood and ran toward the approaching AT-STs while the one that remained at the position fired in our direction.
“Dogg, they’ve got the detonator.” I spoke into the comm while taking cover from the AT-ST blasts.
“How?”
“Cagno, Kyp and Waccabacca were taken down from behind by Al’x Wren.”
“Where is the detonator now?”
“Al’x has it and is running back behind their primary force.”
“Not if I can stop him!”
“Dogg, don’t do anything stupid!”
“*laughter*”
Melted sand splattered on me as an AT-ST blast landed too close for comfort.
“Dogg, we’ve got to clear the AT-ST on the right before the other two take the position and make it impossible for Lliam to assist Cagno, Wacca and Kyp.”
“Nid is going to kneecap Al’x…. Al’x is down. I repeat, Al’x is down. We’re moving on the AT now.” Dogg warned.
Seconds later the AT-ST blaster fire stopped as the AT-ST toppled from punishing attacks at its legs. Our combat medics raced to the scene and pulled the wounded into the crater while my group entered the rear of the crater.
We regrouped near the forward edge of the crater and the medics worked on patching up the wounded. Wacca, Cagno and Kyp would be back on their feet in no time. Sand flew as the first enemy field turret came online.
“I recommend we exit the rear of the crater and force them to come through it or around it in open field. While the crater offers us defense, it just means we’ll stay alive until they surround us with yet more forces from Haven.” Dogg commented.
“Agreed.” Get the wounded on their feet and we’ll fall back toward the base of the volcano. Find an outcropping and secure the area. Without a shuttle, we’ve got to think of something…. They won’t be able to scan the surface with ships around the volcano. It will be days of hiking, but we could circle the volcano and make our way to Nym’s Stronghold and hop on a shuttle to get off this rock. We’re the hunted now.” I replied.
“I’m not leaving this hellish rock until Al’x has his blood on my hands.” Cagno retorted.
“Nor am I,” reaffirmed Waccabacca.
“And I’ll be a bloated bantha if I’ll let them have all the fun,” Kyp added.
“Well, what exactly are you proposing then, Cagno?”
“We know they’ll be looking for us around this area. I say we charge this group and catch them totally off guard. They’re short an AT now, Al’x is wounded… right Nid?”
“Right, looked like I got him squarely in the thigh,” Nid answered. “They’ll be taking him back to Haven with that wound. And what happened to Cro’de?”
“He was going to catch the last escape pod. I think he was trying to steer the ship into the thick of them,” I replied.
“No… poor bugger did cost them an AT-ST, but I didn’t see an escape pod.” Nid sighed.
“So they are wounded and without their primary commander right now. We fall back to the base of the volcano and then come straight back and hit them once they figure out we’ve left. They’ll have to pack up their heavy weapons to pursue us,” Cagno suggested.
“No. We hit them right now. One AT-ST is already leaving with Al’x it looks like and they only have one turret up,” Dogg stated bluntly. I raised my eyebrow at him to question his statement, but his mind was made up.
“Move out! Nid, Apache, fire on the engineers setting up the turrets. Dogg, Wacca, Kyp, take out the online turret. Cagno, Lliam, and the rest of us move on the left flank where they have the tent setting up” I shouted.
Blaster fire seared the air as we carried out our bold assault. The turret fell quickly and an additional AT-ST left the fight to apparently accompany Al’x Wren’s on their journey to Haven. The audacity of our attack seemed to completely catch the Imperials off guard and one AT-ST collapsed to the ground under a volley of rockets and sheet of flames. Soon the Watchmen had control of the battlefield and only five Imperial soldiers were spared by having the wisdom to surrender. Bent metal littered the landscape and a quick decision had to be made. Al’x was moving fast toward Haven in an AT-ST with the control key and detonator. If these reached Haven the Imperial Guard would regain control of their base.
Our soldiers piled into the only operable vehicle left on the scene, a landspeeder. The speeder’s repulsorlift proved inadequate as the speeder skipped into the top of small hills with the weight of so many passengers aboard. Night drew near as the overloaded speeder chased the two AT-STs and the wounded Al’x Wren.
The lights of the Imperial city Haven loomed in the distance as the sounds of the AT-STs finally became audible....
