Unless they changed it an adk will replenish the condition on the weapon as long as you dont let it break first.

Wrong, if the condition is less than 25% the ADK won't stop it from continuing to lose condition.

And I just put an ADK on my Proton as it is my second best DPS Carbine.......I have 3 ADK's for 3 toons

I mothballed 3 of my proton carbs so that I can get them sliced before I adk one of them.

Now when slicing is fixed in 2010 I can use them

The best thing about the Proton Carbine is the action cost. Mine says 82, I think (might be 85). I have an Elite Carbine that does more damage than my Proton, but the action cost is something like 120. That's a signifigant difference, and I often find that the Proton Carb doesn't suck my action down very far (my other guns do.)

Yes, the proton carb has an action cost of 85, and I got mine down to 62 action cost with a power-up. I hardly even look at my green bar these days )

ADK it, power-it up, and enjoy your toy. On the down side, my weaponsmith can't make a carbine to compete with it without exceptional tissues. That is dissappointing, but most people don't care about the weaponsmtih....just the weapon.

The Proton carbine has awsome stats, cold damage, as said earlier only 85 action cost...and most importantly....as of now, they are not craftable. I slapped an ADK on mine. It's my best carbine and cannot be replaced at the moment without finding someone to do the quest and sell you theirs.

I did ADK mine, but I have 5 ADKs.

I use the thing less and less each day, great stats on paper but disappointing in actual use, at least till something is done about elemental damage.

I have a 322 dps SAC 73 Mark II and a 306dps SAC 76 Elite that are both superior weapons, and both have the +17 accu mod. Sadly, with the end of the bugged Pre CU weapons stocks these kind of carbs are going to be very rare.

That is exactly why I bought and used an ADK on my Proton Carbine. I had the carb sliced to 328DPS (only increased the speed by a few percentage points) with the low action cost of 85 and cold dmg you cant go wrong with this carb. I have an E11 MKII that does a bit more dmg that I picked up for next to nothing, but the SAC is 114 and after several shots my action bar is done and Im stuck using regular shots, whereas if I was using the Proton I would have significantly more action for special shots meaning the Proton does MORE dmg if you look at the whole picture (you dont want to run out of action killing a Jedi). Plus it looks and sounds hot. If I can only get a Mandolorian helmet this toon will have every item ive ever wanted.

I have a question about Pups...I was thinking of adding them to reduce the proton's SAC even further, but there were no "available sockets" listed on the carbs description. Now that I have sliced and ADKd it, am I too late to add some pups? If not, what kind of pups reduce action cost?

Ah... first of all, back to a sensible font-size...

Second, Pup and sockets? Up to now, you just pulled the thing on the weapon and done, there's no weapon with sockets. (Are you sure you tried to put a powerup on it? Rather sounds like you wanted to put an armour attachment or clothing attachment on the weapon...)

Sry about the font, when I post from work I have to type my msg in another window...long story.

I never tried to pup a weapon before but I had pupd some clothing on my pikeman, so I assumed the process was the same regarding the sockets.

So if the carbine now has an ADK on it, the question is can it still be puped?

The way you say it, it definitely seems like you wanted to put a clothing or armour attachment on the weapon. What exactly is it, what you wanted to put there?

Anyways, ADKed weapons can very well still take powerups, as far as i know. (Didn't get hold of an ADK yet...)

[Anyways, weapons with pup on them decay faster, i was told that this is also true still after the CU... so, ADK makes sense in that case. ]
