Nobody's just one profession tho. Nobody masters carbine and then stops. I think allJangus istrying to do here is point out a combo that is pretty good.

And supposedly, for those who are somewhat into carbines, already have either done this path or at least know about it...who doesn't hear it here after hearing of super accuracy and hitting the speed cap?

No forced interaction (in an MMORPG?), but hey, the expansions sure seem forced.

Speaking with regards to PvP, I mastered Carbineer and stopped (I am CH which is useless in PvP). While I can't solo diddly in PvP, in a group I have been very effective. I have picked up CH to do PvE with Carbineer and only two times have I gotten owned on Dath, but the CH part is what makes me strong, not Carbineer. However even a Master CH can get in trouble if he can't kill fast enough, so IMO Carbineer and CH are ideal for PvE.

Although I have been befriending my best pets to people in other professions and/or holo-grinding (gets me CH XP without doing anything...shhhhh) and see that a number of other classes don't do the damage that we can when buffed. A friend of mine is now dropping Master Pistoleer because of how much more damage I was doing on hunts.

So played in the right situations and smartly, Carbineer is DECENT, but not more powerful than most by any stretch of the imagination, at least not yet

Firehawk,

CH *can* be useful in PvP. It's not uber but it is not worthless. There are some tricks. PM me if you want more info.

I have +25 Carbine Speed along with a lot of other attachments, and Carbineer is still the weakest Elite Profession in the game.

sure, carbineer/BH is very powerful, but a carbineer is not.

there should be a carbineer/BH forum

Ayami - MCH since september '03 and until NGE.
The removal of CH and the NGE in general is the dumbest thing a company has ever done. period.
CH deserves to stay, and SOE deserves to be *#&$^#*@ until they are #*&$& and then *#&$ some more!

Combat-wise some players do.

I've got 0-0-2-0 in Carbineer, Master Weaponsmith, Master Artisan, and Master Merchant. I plan on dropping merchant soon to finish off carbineer.

Try Carbineer/Squad Leader sometime. I still have a mid-level CH capability and use a pair of low level pets buffed. There's not much out there that challenges me in PvE, PvP is hell unless I am seriously buffed and fed. With the speed power ups and slices on my weapons, I can still drain my HAM bar on Stamina and Quickness buffs of less than a thousand points.
