Thread: Best PvP Carbine?

I keep the "Holy Trinity" of Carbines for every situation.

Elite Carbine- My PvP weapon, fast, accurate, and an even damage spread. Good IMO for steady damage, unlike the fluctuating Laser Carbine.

DXR-6 Carbine- I've been using this carbine more and more for both PvE & PvP, esp. when I got higher in the Carbineer/BH trees, facing tougher targets with higher energy resists.

Laser Carbine- I use this more for PvE than I do for PvP.

One more bonus for us Carbineers... our weapons look great!

if your speed cap... laser carbine is a nice toy to have in pvp but make sure to have a good range mod on it...

DX6 is very accurate so you can make sure to do a constant damage with it!

PVP relies on range mod! (of course damage to )

I was reading another post where DH17's could make a comeback and a Jedi fighter because AP wasn't an issue. High accuracy, decent damage and awesome HAM costs. I've always liked these carbines and its nice to see a niche for them developing.

I don't use them much, but I always get a DH17 Short Carbinemade when I get a round of Krayt Carbines done

DXR6 is used when a PSG comes into play and has nothing to do with how armor is sliced or anything else.....

The Laser is the first choice until Ranged Mitigation Level 3 enters into the situation and then the DXR6 needs to be used to punch through a PSG. Although I really need to do some calcs on the Laser and DXR6 with a PSG and without Mitigation....might be interesting

Okay guys, I dont understand how different weapons have better accuracy, and some dont get blocked by mitigation and some do, I thought this solely delt with your skills, and ranged mitigation would still block a certain percentage of any ranged weapon, sorry for inconvience but please help

Ps: i thought laser would be best because of damage, and ap2.... I always thought elites were p.o.s

ALL weapons are affected by mitigation. The higher the mitigation level (there are only 3 and they dont stack) the less damage the weapon will do.

Mitigation effectively breaks down the gap between maximum damage and minimum damage of a weapon into 1/3's. When using a super laser carbine thats80 - 800 damage the 65 and slightly higher is whats going to determine most of the damage done. If the person doesn't have any mitigation then the damage will randomly go up and down the gap.

example: super KraytLaser Carbine 80min - 800max

Ranged mitigation 0: 80 - 800

Ranged mitigation 1: 80 - 620

Ranged mitigation 2:80 - 440

Ranged mitigation 3:80 - 260

example: well made KraytElite 300min - 600max

Ranged mitigation 0: 300 - 600

Ranged mitigation 1: 300 - 525

Ranged mitigation 2:300 -450

Ranged mitigation 3:300 - 375

Now you see why laser weapons aren't used that often in PvP even though they tend to have very high maximum damages. Even when you add in the 25% damage bonus for having AP2 (all armor is AP1 and for each AP above it you get a +25% bonus) the damage is still going to be bouncing around between the 80 and 260 damage modifiers.

Now if they would only give the Elite the respect it deserves and make it AP2....

Accuracy does one thing and one thing only. It increases your chance to not completely mission someone. When you shoot at someone their dodge skill modifiersare compared to your accuracy skill modifiers and a roll is made. If you have high accuracy your chances of hitting them goes up substantially.

Is saberblock affected by accuracy: NO

Is counter-attack affected by accuracy: NO

Is block affected by accuracy: YES

How much wood could a wood chuck, chuck if a wood chuck could chuck wood: Plz die

Block is the only skill that shaves off a percentage of the TOTAL damage done to someone after its past their armor, mitigation, and food defenses. It always goes off rarely....
