I think what we really need to do is look at the definition of what each weapon type is. Pistol is a pistol no doubt about it and should shoot as fast as someone can pull a trigger. Nice and light good accuracy up close. To me a carbine is some kind of semi auto weapon like an Uzi or M16 type rifle. It should fire in short bursts quickly and do some kind of medium damage with good accuracy. I mean how accurate do you have to be with a gun that shoots in bursts of concentrated gunfire. The rifle should be like a sniper rifle. Very powerful but slow firing one shot at a time. How many times have you seen a sniper rifle fire at 1 sec intervals. It just didnt happen. Let alone strafe shot. I think that should have been reserved for carbines. I mean point the gun, pull and hold the trigger and sweep. That's how i think the guns should be.

Think most rifleman would respond to that with saying they aren't snipers but heavy gunners or something like that. The thing I can't see is why then should they get all that accuracy they get, as it is now they have the best of both as in the accuracy of a sniper and the speed of a gunner.

Nope Riflemen respond with this:

4-x-x-x Rifleman is called "Sniper"

x-x-4-x Rifleman is called "Gunner"

If forced to choose between both we chose Gunner, Hell take our accuracy away for all I care. Snipers rely on Stealth anyways something the developers will never give us.

Choose Rifleman at release becuase I thought we were Stealthy Snipers, found out we are actually bad ass Gunners. I'm happy with my choice

That logic doesn't work because you don't get any speed with only that title.

Using the logic "well we get a bunch of AoE specials" doesn't work either since you have the same number of AoE specials as a pistoleer.

The only true distinction rifleman have is sniping.

In my mind, being a Carbineer is not about solo strength, but about supporting firepower. When I master I plan on teaming up with other combateers and supporting them with my wicked specials. I dont need to spam them, but if I can get a few AoE dizzy/KD combos out, then a number of the enemy will be down.

And when a T21 blast hits someone on the ground, you know it's going to hurt

I don't see it as my job to take everyone out, but to put everyone down. The rest of the squad finishes things off

Why is that BS, you mean to tell me that if your not buffed you stop being a warrior or combatant. I didn't know that. SO i guess I should retain a Doctor to act as my squire and travel by my side to keep me buff at all times. Sorry to tell you this but it's true Fighting other prof's unbuffed is the true test to how well your Prof is in combat. Your a seasoned veteran to this game don't you remember PvP before these buffs existed?

PvP before buffs! one shot kills! whoever could hit first!

it was PvP before mitigation. PvP before armor. PvP before DEFENSES for gods sake.

PvP unbuffed is all about who can get in the first hit.

Well since buffs PvP is even more predictable......drum rolling................SPAM, SPAM,SPAM,SPAM. It takes on avearge more then 1 shot to kill and the first shot doesn't always win, trust me I know cause I still duel my brother all the time unbuffed and we both agree there is alot more in the way of combat variables when it comes to tactics. Unbuffed for instance if you try a KD + Dizzy and you waste 2 attacks on it to get it to stick, your toast which is the way it should be. That just one example there are plenty more. Only Spammers like Buffs.

Well I'd rather spam specials than spamming my healing macro.

If you don't have med buffs, then buff with food. I can still spam to my hearts content with the right food combos and spice when needed.

Now, if you have no med buffs and a full stomach and your food / drink buffs have worn off, then you are in trouble, but what you do then is if the other person has no buffs you just pull your hardest hitting gun out and /cripple shot them. It is very common for me to hit players for 500pts of damage with cripple shot so it does not take much for them to go down, even when armored.

As a master carbineer/doc it works fairly well in PVE. Maybe not the ultimate but pretty good so I have no complaints there except for the HAM.

Where it falls short for me is in PVP. I have a good Elite170-250 2.4 speed that is witha powerups on it for speed and min damamge. Even then I do little damage to buffed and armored guys that isn't recouped faster thenI can deal it. I rarely win any these days against pistol, rifle, and melee guys because of the mind damage question. Pistoleers while maybebroken also have the stun guns they can get, so do rifle. With Melee guysI can last quite a while buteventually get worn down on mind and hardly damage them, and that is with it buffed up.

Almost always I loose to mind damage.Give us a stun gun and it would help quite a bit, or at least give me a fighting chance. At least give us a stun weapon and adjust the ham cost would be a vast improvement. Almost every battle I go intoI get hamered from all directions with stun pistols and rifles. So in my mind (pun) it is seems to be the deciding factor in PVP at present.

Lol, if that were the case, then commandos would be one of the best combat classes because of one-shot kills and low ham costs.

All I'm going to say is that if none of you duel w/o buffs and believe that the only duels that should take place are when you are buffed that you are not getting the true sense of what your characters true combat prowess is, unbuffed a commando never even comes close to hitting me so that statement above is only true on the rare occasion they do and I accept it as that ( hell even in RL a person gets lucky now in then ). If you want to measure your abilites and gauge them in comparison to other prof's you should fight unbuffed. Simple as that, hell anyone can spam.
