Thread: That's it, I am fed up with Carbine agro!!!
The way aggro works now is the person doing the most damage to a target will generate the most hate from the target. If you are shooting it with Critical Shot and wondering why your getting attacked its because its one of the most damaging specials for a ranged profession.
If you dont want the creatures to rush you than don't do the most damage.

so I use critical for 2274 and mr. rifle uses advanced sniper for 4361. Somehow in there I have done the most damage and get the agro?Oh and I fire second btw.
Since when did math change?

I open up AFTER the other 4 and still manage to get the attention of the mobs and most of his buddies. I fire charge shot then a critical............"hey look, let 's rush the carbineer WAY over there with the ranged cybernetic arm from 60meters away!!! and bypass a rifleman and the two pistoleers and the way to him!!!"Is improved charge shot giving off an AOE aggro, but only working on one target? My gun hit pretty hard, put pales in comparison to the rifleman sniper shots.Anyways to make a long story short, something is wrong with this. I played EQII for a few months which uses a hate system as well and never had this problem.
Try this, you shoot first before the others. Use your KD and follow with Snare from max distance possible. Then pause, keep your distance from the mob and let the others get their hits in. The mob should now agro whoever else is doing most damage and you can start attacking again. This may get you agro again but by this time it should be at least half dead and not such a problem. Also it's good to not be standing next to your buddies while using the KD and snare to open. The best scenario is to have the mob agro you and start your way which should be the opposite direction from you buddys. Once you pause and they get agro the mob will now be moving away from you. If you get agro back sometimes you can keep the mobs in a state of going back and forth between you and you buddys but without it ever getting too close to either of you. Hope this helps.

If you're using Area attacks, i.e. Improved Full Auto Area, your damage inflicted to each target isn't much. However, the damage you inflicted to ALL the targets get added up. Now you're their "Public Enemy #1."

Those are made up numbers. Why don't you look at your combat log and see how often you are shooting critical shot and how often it takes your riflemen friend to fire sniper shot.
Are you honestly trying to say that because you are holding a carbine that npc's and creatures specifically target you? Seriously you can't be that stupid.
Its not hard to outdamage a rifleman on mobs. Yes they can hit for alot but you get in about 2 specials during the time hes powers down aka making you the higher damage dealer of the 2 of you.
Just be smart, just becouse you have food that makes it possible for you to spam specials dont improve things, it will just get you a sh-tload of aggro. If you get aggro - you will notice by the mob coming at you and the music have stopping shot ready, hit it and target the ground. That way the tank catches up to the mob and gets hate again. Its not the tanks fault that you outdamage him its your own fault.
Just spamming specials are the no 1 way of dying to a kryat etc due to that your gun proton, e11 or elite are fast when your have your template set up.
Keep your auto attack set to basic man. Work on stating the target. If you love carbs but hate arrgo, try picking up a Root attack ether in pistols line or Smuggler line. I'd go for smuggler myself Concussion shot = 30 secondroot 90% of the time, Pistols Stop shot less effective and shortertimmer it seems. You want real pian Try a Proton Carbine even on basic shot you arrgo..
When I hunt for xp I use thee most basic low Damage High SAC weapon I can get my hands on.. All it takes is one shot to get all that xp
I don't think anyone I hunt with has cuaght on ![]()
New rule require new ways of thinking
Soling its another matter you arrgo anyways so lay into em ![]()
