I am confused, it takes no abilities for the new Carbines....it just takes the proper certification.
The Slugthrower is craftable now but as listed in the other STICKY threads, the others are unknown at this time.

Hello,
Well, I have read thru many of the topics concerning the CU and the MC profession. And to be honest, I am very upset. A Master Bounty Hunter gets a COOL weapon, the Proton Carbine, when all we (The Master Carbineer's) can do is drool over it.
Then I find out that the Geo Carbine, Needler Carbine, and the Bola Carbine are gonna be Loot Drops, and NOT craftable?!?!?! Com'on! This is such the Biggest TEASE I have ever seen! I mean, heck, crafting a Geo Carbine with Krayt Tissues would be a GREAT idea! Make a Mega Damage Carbine to make the Carbineer a profession that is more viable.
So far, from what I have been able to gleem from everything I have tried and read (Yeah, I played on TC 5 trying out the new CU) Carbineer's are going to be the UNWANTED STEP CHILDREN OF SWG.
I choose to play a Carbineer for one simple reason. . . Carbines ARE STAR WARS! You see ST's using the E-11 CARBINE, you see Rebel Troops using the CDEF CARBINE. Han Solo uses a PISTOL as does Princess Leia. Luke Skywalker uses WHATEVER he can get his hands on, then goes exclusively to the Light Saber!
You don't see Boba Fett standing toe-to-toe with Luke on the skiff in RotJ. So come on! Gimmie a friggin break here people! The Carbineer is the HEART and SOUL of Star Wars. . . and treated like a WASTE OF TIME!
Alright. . .Alright . . I think I made my point. I will retract everything I have said here when the CU comes out and I find the Carbineer's have been placed near the top of the food chain as I think they should be. If not, then I will rant some more. . . LOL.
have Fun all.
by loot drops they mean the schematic is looted, so it can be crafted, not that you can only get the gun from a drop. u'll still have your krayt Geo carbine and such

And I specifically said it isn't cert'd yet AND/OR going to be a loot schematic drop.....the AND/OR is key there ![]()
So many things are changing that the Devs stopped updating the Corrs weeks and weeks ago, so my info is kinda old.....they never told me about the E11 Mark2 actually. There are two basic reasons we can't find certs on TC right now: #1 the Devs haven't decided where to cert the weapon or #2 it is a loot schematic drop and the cert is listed on the weapon and not in the skill trees.

What about the E 5 carbine that is currently slated under squad leader in a tree that requires pistol experinece? This might be a good point to argue to bring the weapon back over to carbineer. The iconic squad leader would carry a pistol anyway.
Has the point been argued that a master carbineer should be able to use any carbine in the game?
The point has been argued quite a lot in this forum, but I don't know how much feedback has gotten back to the Devs. Quite frankly for there to be BALANCE, other profs/hybrids must be cert'd for special/custom/unique weapons just like Carbineer is cert'd for Carbines but not Pistols, there must be distinction. We should be proud that a Carbine is important enough to go to other hybrid profs...we might see more Carbines in BH/Smuggler/SL/Commando/CM/etc because of the VALUE of Carbines, not because they are useless.
It would be a lot easier for us if they had just called them all Rifles or Pistols, then it would "look" like the Master Carbineer is cert'd for all Carbines, but in the end we have PROFESSIONS and not CLASSES like other MMORPG's so the rules can't be the same for BALANCE reasons. The other profs needed ranged weaponswho aren't specifically a Carbineer/Pistoleer/Rifleman/Commando but within the limits of the code the weapon had to be given a category, so why make a new category of weapons for each hybrid?
On the same token, I feel if a hybrid gets certs for Carbines, then they better require Marksman Carbs.....the problem with that is requiring too many skill points for some hybrids so a level of compromise must be reached, which is nothing requires Master Marksman now to make the releative power of the hybrid equal to the skill points needed to get thay hybrid.
YUMMY, got to use colors ![]()

There isnt a balance issue with the new weapons. Its about who gets the new toys. The proton, E5, and dart carbine arent any different from the weapons in the carbine tree as far asdamgegoes. We miss out on the cold damage that the proton does. The E5 isnt that special of a carbine and is comparable to the E11 mark II with the current stats. The dart is only slightly better than the nym.
What the DEVs are doing is simply giving some professions weapons in an attempt to make squadleader more attractive or as a sorry we gimped you BHor sorry we nerfed youCM, but guess what carbine has been the most gimped combat profession since the beginning. Rifleman is getting the new rifles (minus BH lightning rifle) and they have been the most powerful ranged profession in the game. If they want squad leader to be more popular putting new weapons in is not the answer... make the profession useful or decrease it to a mini profession with a quarter of the skill point requirements.
I just want to see carbineers get what they deserve for patiently waiting this long and to give masters the certs for those weapons is not going to hurt gameplay unless somehow we are not suppose to do cold damage. WE WANT THE NEW TOYS ![]()
i do agreethat if there is a carbine in a profession they better have the carbine 1-4 as a minimum.
Will the nym carbine be changed to a drop schem off nym NPCs or still the reward from Nym as the carbine its self? Seems if this is to be our only kinetic damage weapon it needs to become more accessible.

As a representative of the Rifleman forum and a Master Rifleman I feel that I might be able to offer some guidance over this issue. I feel your pain my ranged brothers and sisters as we in the Rifleman community lost one of our sought after CU/R/B weapons the Proton Rifle to the Commandos. This is an outrage how it can be listed as new rifles added to the game on a Friday feature then stolen from us much like a bully who takes candy from a kid. To compensate the Carbineers of SW:G we Rifleman willingly trade you our beloved MIR for your E11 Mark 2 in order to set things straight.
Then I find out that the Geo Carbine, Needler Carbine, and the Bola Carbine are gonna be Loot Drops, and NOT craftable?!?!?! Com'on! This is such the Biggest TEASE I have ever seen! Nah, much like before the unwanted step children of SW:G are those who play the game.

While your statement about "carbineers are Star Wars" they are not all that are within it. Many would argue and with good points that the E11 was originally a rifle, has been in all other games and Star Wars related material but only listed having a carbine model in SW:G. Whether or not this is true I cannot say; however, you are correct about the use of the CDEF and DH17 carbines (and pistols) found being used in the movies.
You don't see Boba Fett standing toe-to-toe with Luke on the skiff in RotJ. So come on! Gimmie a friggin break here people! The Carbineer is the HEART and SOUL of Star Wars. . . and treated like a WASTE OF TIME!
Actually ranged professions were the heart and soul though melee (including glowbats) were found within Episodes 4 - 6. It'll be a great day when players are witness to massive amounts of blaster fire being tossed about during battles among our servers and something that has been missing from this game for well over a year.
Also probably the problem with lairs is more complex than it seems, so they might be working on it but not able to solve it just yet.
