It will have its ups and downs.....Will still probably require you to think a bit though...

will you be able to pick one attack and spam the hell out of it until your enemies drop? no. however with almost all of our specials fixed im betting that a heads up carbineer will be able to hold his own.

Since it doesnt look like they are fixing the ham costs I doubt it will be the flavor of the month. And besides carbineers actually takes work at being good at pvp, most noobs wont be able to handle it. They want to be tkm where you dont have to do any work to be great at pvp.

....stun didnt even work? yipes....FAS2 usually applies stun or blind to whatever you're attacking as long as you use it more than 4 times in the fight....

So for most people it will NOT be good in PvP

Stun didnt work, no bleeds, no KD's, no posture changes and of course no dizzies, so i was reliant on merely knocking down the enemies health in the traditional way, and using my doc skills to best effect. Lets hope this patch does as advertised.

Stun and Blind work great in PvP and as AoE And NO profession has a good bleed so why even bring that one up, ours works as good as the next, but I wish the Posture Change hit more often. The Posture Change DOES work, just not very often....

Such bashing....I suggest you find a new profession as Carbineer is never going to be the uber solo PvP profession you are looking for......and yes I am starting to sound like a broken record.....

I think people will be tempted by the new specials, since we are getting so much attention before the combat rebalance. But overall the fixs will balance us with the other profs. Carbineers will be able to hold their own a little better then they can right now. But all this publish is doing is furthering the support/suppression fire role of the carbineer. I PvP right now and i usually can take out most templates 1v1as long as i think about it and usestrategy and terrain to my advantage. My only problem is TKA'sif they manage to get the Dizzy/KD combo off right away. Other than that we aren't that weak, but we really don't have any really good PvP specials, but the new publish should fix that.

We already do hold our own...now were just getting better. I can take any template one on one if i do it right. Not everytime by any means but i can win. The riflemen def stackers are the only ones that give me a realyhard time. They can hit the mind to fast and if they have a weapon that is to much better than high end (Kryte imp stock etc.) than im probably dead. But other than that...one on one ill probably come out alive. Not every time... Tk's dont know what to do wen you stand up and heal the dizzy its prety funny. Now i can dizzy kd them hehe. The only other realy hard prof is a CM with the new killer poisons that tick over 1k. If i cant get it healed fast enough. Got some new cures in the works now with realy high power though. A good bh/carbineer can also be tricky because of all the status effects at once and the ungodly speed with normal weapons damage sliced and powered up. But usualy they are so bussy just spamming that i can beat em with tactics.

The trick to pvp is most people dont realy give it much thought. They spend all thecredits on the best stuff they can find but then wen it comes time to show what you got they freeze up and stick to one shot they read was uber. Good rule of thumb is if you got more than 3-4 attacks qued up your not doing it right. You need to be able to get that change posture shot or kd off at the right moment. And know wen to use a scatter shot over a fas or a cripple. Legshot 2 even has its place in pvp...maby once a month but still has its place heh.

PvP with a Doctor or yourself being a Doctor is a totally different game, just like being a BH/Carbineer is completely different.

A template Carbineer IS quite powerful but a pure Carbineer is pretty weak in PvP. I don't PvP much anymore so CH works great for me. One of the finest things about SWG is the variety and combinations of professions along with the ability to change them relatively easily.

well yeh....92 points spent on combat is a lot less powerfull than 250 points spent on combat and related skills.

You can be effective in PvP, but you'll never be a powerhouse. You just have to know your weapon, its limitations and advantages, and your enemies limitations and advantages as well as the limits of your own skills and abilities above and beyond which boxes you've got highlighted. I killed a 3444 Bounty Hunter and a Master Commando last night in two separate fights and spent over an hour in Kor Vella farming stormtroopers completely solo with no medic ability, just a good set of buffs and blue milk. Know what you've got going for you and learn how to apply it.
