Just wanted to know if something like this happend to anyone else. I was in bestine and the only people waiting for the shuttle where me and this tka. The tka said something like "DUEL NO DB" or something like that.We weren't buffed,so I told him and he said it didnt matter. We dueled, and I won. I said "good fight", and he started sending me tells about how I'm a coward and how I should have fought like a man. What the hell are ranged fighters supposed to do, stand there and get dizzy/kd'd?

If u r ranged u cant just stand there and let a tka pull some bulllcrap moves on you while u r trying to shoot him down.

dont feel bad u did the right thing, whoever said that (u dont have to mension his/her name) does not know what they r talking about

take my advice next time they wont leave u alone put them on ur ignore list lol

May the force be with u

Since you were doing what you were supposed to he shouldnt flame you. What did he want you to unequip your gun to. Whats with calling it kiting its called tactics, unlike cm's who do poison and disease and then run or press peace.

Apparently the phrase "don't bring a knife to a gun fight" doesn't hit home with him, heh. Melee classes are more durable but are easily kited, it's just the way things are...

Not kiting, but a few days ago I, a Master Carbineer/Master Squad Leader, dueled my friend, a BH/Pistoleer combo. I opened up with Fullautosingle til I got a dizzy to stick, landed my charge shot, and went to town on her.

She said I noob'd her... rofl. What is a Carbineer supposed to do, our guns suck anyways, a BH/Pistoleer has a helluva lot more damage potential in PvP than we do. Btw, she had a 120-270 or something Geno pistol

i alwayse get flamed for kiting manly by TKM's who think there uber and shouldnt die, i alwayse make sure i burst run before i accept the duel as well so if a dizzy sticks i can get 20m between me and them so they cant use the lunge that KD's.

If any melee person ever whines about kiting just complain that they were getting too close. Then in a really childish manner tell them to wait at your optimal range somewhere between 30-40m away.

Maybe we can even come up with a catchy little phrase for it too.

Just look at it this way, if they were 30m when challanged you bet your life they are not just going to stand there, they are going to try to get as close as they can.

Some fencer dueled me once. He insisted that we start at like 2m. I agreed and burst run away from him. I hadhim pretty messed up before he ended it saying "No fair, you moved." Well no **edit**.

Every try /replying that to some TKM fool who is crying about losing because you kited them? Definitely a very enjoyable experience

Whenever someone insists on starting 2m away from you in a duel simply ask them why you cannot start at you ideal range. Also if you are doing No DB duels (which personally i am a big fan of, the only people i DB are overt rebels and TEF warriors) there is no shame in having more than one duel. What melee proffession don't understand is that even though our weapons work when standing next to them, they don't work well, and we don't get all the nifty toughness and defence modifiers. 9 times out of 10 when someone complains about kiting it is because they come to these boards and see an abundance of "TKM is teh uber win and pnwj me and will pwnj j00 2" and then think hmm if i was a TKM i would be l33t as well. And thus FOTM is born. Although despite the largely unbalanced system in SOE the combat classes aren't that far off and with enough skill and strategy any class can be competitive.

btw, for whover was asking, Kiting is when you are in a constant state of moving away from a target that has to engage you in melee because they have no ranged. The term comes from the fact that they are forced to follow you around like a kite.
