Well TC has been backed up/saved and Tiggs posted they are doing some maintenance to TC hardware for the coming of the CU code.....so I can't imagine them loading TC-Prime database back up after all that work.....but ya never know with SOE

I will also be organizing the Carbineer Alpha Team along with the rest of the folks here who want to participate in some organized testing on TC.....more details to follow.

My hopes are to be able to increase the size of the Carbineer Testing Team to make sure we get things done and checked out. If I can keep it down in numbers I might open up my TS server as the best way to stay together while on TC with thousands of other folks.

This looks good from our point of view. We have a good standing in the power department as well as our croud controle...At least in their visiual represintation... Gave us a 4 in damage and croud controle. Rifles 5 in danage naturaly but pistols 3 damage and a 4 in croud controle as well. Smugglers get a 5 in croud controle...

Its a nice system to look at it all depends on how they do it. I dont like the ultra short testing phase. Seems the trend with this game and they never get it close to right by the time it goes live.

Does this whole upgrade and core systems change mean that most of what we have done so far was a beta phase...

Well it depends how many people show an interest to be organized in a group or just go do their own thing. Both ways will need to be explored but those that wish to have organized testing with me are welcome to PM me and then I will decide if we can all fit on my TS server.....gives me a chance to see how many it can hold too

There I go again, quoting myself

My intentions are to take volunteers that I can call on to help in the testing of Carbineer or whatever we are doing at the time....so send me a PM so I have a list of folks who want to join me on TC.

I will setup a guildhall to aid in the organization, but for my own sanity the details of our gatherings will not be made public, but via PM.

Wow. Very, very interesting document. The points I found most interesting, as a Carbineer and a general player with other interests were:

1) DOTs are gone. Hooray! Only Profession DOTs will remain but all looted DOT weapons are history. Makes me glad I never shelled out big bucks for one.

2) No more AP.

3) More armour diversity. New types of armour including factional armour and more craftable armour. There will no longer be the uber composite ruling the armour world. You will be able to choose based on your playstyle and profession rather than one type having the best stats. Very eager to get that Imperial Assault Armour

4) Combat is becomming much more tactical under the new system. Spamming is gone and thinking is in.

5) Visual changes to the toolbar, icons and combat sound nice.

6) New AI sounds like a lot of fun for more challenging PvE.

7) Lightsabers are now 'energy' damage. This is very, very good.....hehe.

8) PSGs will only work against ranged energy damage when the CU hits.

9) Changes to the Medic line mean that you will only need 2 skill trees to get to Doc if you want it (the 'general healing' line and the 'pre-doc' line.) If you just want healing abilities as a Medic you will only require the 'general healing' line.

10) Adding additional ranged skills to your template will complement and enhance Carbineer. Adding additional defensive skills from other professions will enhance your defensive skills. So I am thinking that 'stacking' will still be an option to improve our defense or you can choose to enhance your offense with lines from other ranged professions.

All in all, a very promising document in my opinion. There is the issue of increased SP cost for Carbineers by taking the Ranged support tree from Marksman but I think that the other changes are very exciting!

No ranged Deathblow seems a bit silly. They seem to be pushing this game into a group requirment type system (or encouraged as they like to call it). Will there be room for solo play which was in my opinion one of the strengths of the game besides the crafting system.

I'm very dubious these changes will increase my fun at all.

I'm actually a bit sad about this, but that's because I've got four or five completely worthless DOT-weapons that I was going to put in my museum of worthless loot/house of crafting failure horrors.
