Thread: Anyone worried about combat rebalance?

I am a master carbineer/MBH and I really enjoy it. I hear alot of docs saying buffs will be lowered. Personally If I am not buffed I can shoot my laser carbine using a special 3 times then whoever I am dueling kills me.

I was just wondering I guess if there is any info on whether or not the insanely high HAM costs will be lowered or not.

If not I guess it is time to start looking for pistol anhancing tapes.

Thanks for any info=)

Worried? I actually can't waitfor it anymore.

Nearly everything will be changed, for example HAM cost will work completely different, you'll mostlikely have an additional pool only for specials. Just like the force pool jedi have now.

I'm pretty sure, that carbineer will beway better to play after the combat upgrade.

Just like the force pool jedi have now.

Well that sounds kinda cool I just hope everyones is the same amount.

Maybe they could make it where all professions "special costs" take the same amount depending on What tier level box it is in.

Example: spamming unarmedhit 3 vs sprayshot would take the same amount of "special bar"

i'm not worried, they did a good job with jump to light speed, and also, with all the beta testers in the beta for JTL, it turned out very well, there were very few bugs, only some minor annoyances, and such, it was all thanks to the beta testers and the dedication the devs put into the expansion- from the looks of it, theyre doing the exact same thing for the combat upgrade, theyre calling beta testers, and we all know lots of people will go and beta test it, we all want this game to be great.

i think the devs are finally pulling them selves together

I'm really really looking forward to it actually. The dev's have already hinted that the 'eat yourself type' HAM system was a bad idea and that it will be re-worked to something much different.

Dont listen to the rumors dude. Doctor buffs will be addressed in the combat revamp. However they NEVER SAID THEY WERE GOING TO BE REDUCED. Heck NO ONE KNOWS whats going to happen.

generic scenario #01: Did it ever occur to you that if you removed regeneration substat buffs and increased your base HAM by 10x that it would be a drastic improvement. Imagine having 20k HAM that didn't regen. You'd need healing but the high HAM would let you stay alive when those nice big npc specials came along. It would also mean grouping with someone with at least novice medic is a necessity. *THIS IS ONLY AN EXAMPLE one of possibilities that MIGHT or MIGHT NOT happen.

Stop thinking old school and think outside the box for a sec.

wow, I almost said "think outside the bun"....no more junk food for me.

Outside the box lol I do not want to group with medics or pick it up for that matter.

As far as jtl I guess you have not heard of the ships that are indestructable bug.

Oh and off topic but group tef really needs to go in rebalance as well.

If you want to kill other players you should have to be overt declared.

I'm a bit worried actually, yeah.

While maybe not slated for the Combat Revamp just yet, they did mention that Armor is being nerfed.. and judging by their comments on how Mandalorian and RIS would be the "high-end" armor types (and the fact that their resists are in the 50s-70s), we can pretty much guess that composite will fall down to the 30s-40s in terms of resists.

So yes, while it does give us Carbineers a break in terms of how much damage we can inflict with our specials, it's also boosting everyone else out there. Just because Carbineers are getting a "balance" boost doesn't mean that other professions aren't, as well.

I'm mainly a PvPer who has, like most, spent countlesshours and credits perfecting their template. It may very well be that the millions in attachments become worthless, or perhaps, less "effective", or outright unecessary. It may very well be that the way specials are queued and used means that our abilities to replicate our tactics of inflicting states and posture changes will be significantly lessened.. and it may very well be that the gap between Carbineers and other current PvP professions is widened, because the Developers' vision of what Carbineers should be does not fit in their view.

Who knows? I can't comment on whether or not I have any inside info into the CB, but from what I've.. heard.. it looks promising. Then again, so did the current implementation of PvP. It wasn't until someone figured out that CMs were overpowered and Riflemen were the kings of PvP damage that issues needed to be addressed.

The Combat Balance will balance the current underlying issues in PvP. Who is to say it's not going to bring a whole slew of new imbalances as well?

Time will tell..

I hope the buffs will be nerfed, I hate having to be buffed to PvP, it isn't right...

Armor nerf will also be welcome, no more super-tank player

I also hope the defence will taste the nerf bat a bit, stacker are invincible unless you are a stacker too, lower-end player should also have a little chance ( at least to hit them )

Want to hear about the old Kudaark? huh?
Vangeance he seeks from those who took away his Loved One
But never an innocent or a helpless one will he harm
For he is a Protector, fearsome and fearless in battle
In the name of Freedom he sways his Justice
The Purifying Flame burns within him, a Kuun-Lan, he is...

I also hope they nerf buffs. They essentially put you into god mode. I'd like to see them be brought down to where they just offset the encumberance of a full set of composite. The original idea with armor was good, if you wore it you traded the ability to use amny specials. Buffs negate that tradeoff, everyone running around in 80% composite with buffs spamming specials, when was the last time you autoattacked? Midlevel PvE is actually quite fun and challenging when you do it unbuffed. I also think lowering buffs will bring back the GCW. As it is now if I want to do some pvp I have to go to coronet and praythere is a doc there buffing, then buy 250K worth of food, spend an hour to get all this done then die in 10 minutes. If buffs were at alevel where they just allowed a full suit of composite then the GCW would open up. If I was running through bestine and saw some reb killin off the ST's or just overt I could jump right in. As it is now I won't be back for an hour!

Back on topic, being in the JTL beta has given me TONS of hope for the CR. The devs really listened to us, and gave us what we wanted instead of what they thought would be good. They worked hard on balancing too. I think overall the CR will be the second best thing for this game, nothing tops JTL, it just isn't starwars without spaceships!

All professions will be balanced and a lot more equal in battle but yet distinct.....the Devs are clear that solo play will be limited to lower content as we get back to the MULTI-PLAYER part of this MMORPG.

This doesn't mean our HAM costs will be lowered, but the Devs are clear that no matter what nobody will be spamming specials constantly.....so don't think you can switch to another prof and spam away.

The exact details will be worked out on the Sandbox and revealed when the CU hits TC.....which is when the NDA will be lifted.

You bring up another question firehawk. If we will have to group again to get high end missions who will be able to loot? , just the ninja looters which most players are or will each person in the group get the same or different loots.

One of the main reasons I started doing solo stuff was because I never got any highend loot because others took it first and most never shared? I hope the devs have a fix for this as well.
