Is this a good combo for a character in swgMaster Carbineer and Master Bounty Hunter? And if so what would be a good carbine to use for this template?

Carbineer and BH is one of the most powerful professions in the GAME for PVP.

Not sure about one of the most powerful.....lack of defenses make that weaker than a Carbineer/Fencer for instance....I should know, I have beaten numerous BH's

But yes, it is a very nice template.

Yeah, depends how much BH you pickup....lack of defenses show up more in PvP than PvE.....except high-end PvE which requires a tank from another player or CH pet.

my carbineer is master carbineer, bh carbs 4, novice brawler, and 3/2/*/* medic, I use brawler for intimidate/warcry and medic for heals but what you add to carbineer is all your choice and what you think is fun.

Hmm, well, lack of defenses in PVP is made up for by the amazing offensive power that MBH/MC has. Against an unprepared opponent, you can have a fully armored enemy down on the ground flopping and dealing out 500 damage per shot.

There are a couple things to watch out for, combat medic is one of them (with anything) and rifleman/doctor is another. Why not fencer and doctor? Or TKA and doctor? I'll tell you why. These two professions lack ranged mitigation, so using a laser carbine on them will result in MASSIVE damage. So much so that you can actually damage them to the point that you beat their heals (which they can't do while KD'd). The rifleman has mitigation and ranged defense, and can hit your mind, and you can't hit his. If he knows what he's doing, he'll just spam a "stand/heal dizzy" so you'll have a lot of difficulty trying to keep him down on the ground. Rotating between KD's and posture downs can do a lot for you, because of the 30 second delay. All you have to do is maintain the sprayshots and keep him flopping and you SHOULD be alright. With my old template, I could NOT be defeated in a duel (for one thing, getting the defenses from pistoleer works wonders) sometimes I'd tie, but I can't remember losing. The problem for carbineer/BH is that in overt PVP you can't pick and choose who you fight, and when you fight them like in a duel. Only thing I can suggest is move in groups and have a bike ready if you see a bunch of reds.

It is easy to counter any other prof's weapon except a Flashlight and CM Junk

And any ranged template against a Jedi with +85 Saber Block (which is way more than 75% of high level Jedi) is a total waste unless you have a gank squad.

This is true, but remember that any prepared opponent, even one lacking in Ranged Mitigation, can completely absorb the damage most BH/Carbineers can dish out. Intimidate2 or even Intimidate1 is extremely effective in reducing our damage output, and a good PvPer never gets dizzy/KD'd for more than a few seconds.. getting back up is easily done.

Synthsteak and PSGs also take a toll and thus reduce our damage even more, not to mention composite armor which, by itself, is rather effective. The ineffectiveness of states on certain melee-stacked builds also prevents us from even getting a KD or posture in, let alone a blind, stun or dizzy to stick. There are still many ways to get around a Carbineer's strengths, but hey, if that wasn't possible, we'd be FOTM and would need a nerfin'

Remember that the mitigation argument also applies to us. Without melee mitigation, an MBH/MC is dead on arrival if unprepared. A simple stun baton will tear through any PSG and 40% resists on Composite won't save us.

That said, a MBH/MC's defense is indeed their offense, so keeping a distance and playing things smartly does result in it being a rather effective profession.. PvP viable anyway. It sure does become kick-ass when you have a nice Carbine though.. but it's not the mother-of-all ranged builds.

I'm doing Carbineer (as well as BH) for two reasons: 1. I've always wanted to. 2. When I come to the carbineer forum I never see tons of posts about "we're nerfed so bad", "our professions broken" etc.....

People here seem to think "Hey, we have our problems but i'm having fun and here's how I can make up for our weaknesses....."

Hopefully soon I'll have my alt at master carbineer.
