My weekly non-constructive post:

Why do you love carbineer so much?

For me, its the non-FOTMness. I absolutly love winning in PvP using carbines.I love getting tells from FOTM rifleman #32423423 "Carbineerssuxorz\/\/TF! Hacker!" I love the strategies and the techniques. The feeling would be comparable to taking a non-DOT pike and beating a Fencer/2hs/MasterBrawler.

I like the range, the mobility, the area and posture effects. I like the fact that I can be quick and still take out a target before it get's to me. I think mostly I like the fact that it's primary HAM usage pool is healable.

for quite similar reasons:

not usable by roxx0r kids who want an "I win" button, and really kicks a$$es when used right.

I LOVE getting tells after the duel like "you damn cheater !" "u said u were carbineer, why you're using a disruptor rifle" (when they see they got pwnd, and see my master rifleman badge -dropped it- and think the dxr6 carbine is a dxr6b rifle)

I love to hang out in big cities, look at groups duelling here and there, and after a few minutes, ask the most FOTMer-like of the group for a duel... and win it ! LOL

I love when I'm in some solo group and we all talk about our templates, and I say "I'm using carbines" then some dude say "carbines suxx0r, I'm (insert FOTM) and I pwn !!!" then we duel and he bites the dust.

I love beign underestimated by arrogant kids, and then beat em eating their health pool

I love having a different template and using a different weapon as the usual VKs, Jawa Ion, or Stun baton thingies

seriously, carbineer is the funniest PvP prof in that game ! (k BH/Carbineer, but I'm quite sure a speed capped straight carbineer can do quite the same)

I like that after I lose a battle to someone I can think "how should I have done that differently?" as opposed to "man I guess I wasnt hitting F5 fast enough".

Seriously though, I have enjoyed carbines a lot. The biggest pro to it is that you have to think quick to win, and be selective about the weapons and attacks you use. I know I am constantly watching my range, my opponents posture status, and what attacks I have queued up. Its got to be the strategy required to play the class for me, thats why I love the class.

I love being able to be the "only" Carbineer in PvP battles. I know there are others, but we are so few that I feel like I am the only one. Just like the posts above, I also love the feeling of my need to diversify my attacks, rather than mashing my F5 button (although if I get my dizzy/knockdown to stick, cripplingshot placed in the F5 slot, does get hit a little more often ). I also like the feeling of peppering groups of enemies, just to see the wide spread of blaster fire.

too bad carbineer requires either :

1) investment of a large amount of skillpoints

or

2) millions in skill tapes (and they won't even cap you with a 3.6 carbine)

to really achieve that feeling and appreciation for carbines.

And some carbineers do stand out in PvP... becuase they have the 250 mind fire/poison carbine? DoT shouldn'tmake a profession good...(Same goes for pikeman)

You are absolutely correct.....but what I love is that being a WELL PREPARED CARBINEER often can win a duel simply by using your mind.

It is also great to be different. Most people have heard how awful Carbineer is....and quite frankly it fits a fairly unique play style in the world of gaming....THINKING So there is great joy to be found is succeeding where many others have failed.

And as I near 3,000 posts in this Forum, I have browsed other forums and quite frankly enjoy the people here more than anywhere else.

I agree, I am a veteran of several professions including: Doctor (RAISE PRICES BECAUSE DOCS ARE POOR) Swordsman (MY SWORD IS BIGGER THAN YOURS) and BH (FIX US), I participated in each of these mindsets and found it enjoyable, but after only an hour, I have found the carbineer forums to be a nice, pleasant, constructive place, my hat is off to you bunch of people.

I love being able to take out my target before they get into range of me. As well as 2 of his friends.
I also love that look in my opponent's eyes, as they lie limply on the ground, knowing they just got beat by someone with a "Master Carbineer" title.

I love it to be one of the rare non-fotm players on my server.

I really LOVE it to defeat real pvp'ers with their fotm template using the underestimated carbine and having my master armorsmith tag on (im really master armorsmith along with carbines on my one and only char).

I love it to /tell with other non-fotm players after the fight about tactics and so.

I love the style being ranged and using a carbine.

I love it to control my targets, when they aren't def stackers, they will be kd'd 90% of the time when fighting me.

I love it to health-incap themaster doctor, master rifleman template.

I love my pvp toolbar with all the foods, the specials, weapons and armors.

I love it to have fun in pvp and promote my armors at the same time. (Damn, i sold so many armors to people who lost against me)

I love to read this forum in spite of german being my native language.
