The last couple of weeks I have been scrolling trough the carbineer forums and I build up a hugh amount of respect for you... It seems to me that if I should ask any carbineer for advice it would be you.

Well here it goes; I'm going M carbs/ Bh 0400/ Pistoleer 0040/ Nov Brawler/ Medic 0130.

I have +25 carbine acc/ +25 carbine acc while moving/ +18 counterattack and And I also have speed tapes but they arent needed when its done, I'll be speedcapping...

I will be deadly accurate and fast, but I know I miss something here, What is your set up and what kind of weapons, armor/ psgs do you have and what are the stats on them.

I need to know what kind of damage my weapon should have to be able to compete in the GCW without getting walked over by any regular defence stacker. I take it that I should use a drx-6 since psg's dont have protection for acid dmg.

Thanks for the compliment, but I am but one man amongst many VERY qualified people here.....

I by no means have the uber Carbines that some here have.....but my complete bag of 13 Krayt Carbines is probably the most extensive. But mine are based on speed capping at +85 Carbine Speed, so their max damage is lower than a BH Carbine would be. Either way, you must look to use crafted Adv. Scopes, looted Imp Theme Park Stocks, and Krayt tissue.....then pray for a Damage Slice or get multiple ones made. My Elite, DXR6, and Laser are all about the same 250 DPS. This becomes, for the DXR6, using CripplingShot about 100 DPS before Mitigation....but that translates into only about 50 DPS to Health

Personally I like my Carbineer/Fencer/Pistoleer template to get more defenses than dabbling in BH to get a small (in my opinion) offensive gain. Of course I have never been a BH but I don't know how I could ever give up my defense stacking....

My armor is 37% Stun and around 82% Base on all pieces. I have some base sliced PSG's that get near 60% Stun and 45% Energy and some that are 65% Energy and 40% Base. Add Synthsteak, Snow Cake, Brandy, Canape and Muon, for emergencies, on top of Doc/Dancer/Musician buffs to become SuperMan.....just watch out for the CM and Jedi, they use Kryptonite

I hope this helps and we can discuss more here or in-game.

I have an option of buying a Krayt Laser carbine with ~80-350 damage, unsliced/unpuped...

If I get a 20% damage slice on it the damage will be ~80-420, add a min/max 16/30% pup to that and you get a ~93-546 dmg laser carbine... I dont know if this even scratches a fencer but i'd like to know so I can buy it or leave it alone...

This piece of equipment is 800K... Might change things a bit.

Ps: the dmg sliced/puped scenary, comes at about 320dps, doesnt seem to bad... what do you think?

My opinion is that that carbine is vastly overpriced.

Though, the economies are quite different per server, and this may be fair on Tempest.

That carbine looks like it was made with base Tissues (minimum stats), and, as far as Krayt's go, isn't great.

don't misunderstand, it most certainly is NOT a bad carbine. But 800k? not worth it, imo.

Sliced it becomes 96-420 and PU'd it is 111-558.

This is a very nice weapon and 800k is probably a fair price, but no great bargain either.....

But you must be prepared for a Speed Slice too.

And the Ideal Range mod needs to be considered as well, hopefully there is an Adv. Scope.....real shame to not have a fully mod'd Krayt Carbine.....

And of course while Mitigation is in the game, the Laser gets hit pretty hard. Mine is 80/480 with PU and with Mitigation it is almost identical to my Elite at 157/354 and my DXR6 at 163/350.

Hehe I forgot to add the slice to the min damage indeed

I'm going for this weapon, money is not that big of a deal... I just want a good gun, but lets pray for a dmg slice, preferably in the +30% hehe

My PvP toon is Master Carbineer with 4440 Fencer and just 17k Combat XP from finishing 0044 Pistoleer. Also have 1000 Scout and Novice Medic. And last night I finished off my 37% Stun Comp Suit (around 82% Base) with +25 Carbine Speed and +25 Accuracy and +25 Accuracy While Moving....still need another +15 Counterattack in this suit, but my 11% Stun and 85% Base Suit is maxed on Counterattack

Oh and I got 3 PSG's sliced to at least 58% Stun.....muhahahaha.....I laugh at EVERY Stun weapon.....

But the basic thought from Addy is correct.....go one of two ways, SEA's or BH, but not both....

Looks like a good setup, Jaap.

However, since you seem to be capped on Accuracy tapes and have several speed ones, I'd suggest something along FireHawk's template which involves 4440 Fencer, I believe, instead of the BH line.

If credits aren't an issue, you should be able to get krayt weapons made in the 2.7 speed range before slices, and if you can manage to get your hands on enough speed tissues to cap out at +85, you'll be far better off.

I acutally dueled a friend of mine who has the same template as you, and his lack of melee mitigation severely limits his ability in PvP. He cannot go against a Melee'r and expect to live long unless he kites, and doing this successfully is most difficult.

But again, this requires investment into +25 carbine speed. If this is an option for you, definitely take it. Until then, your setup should serve you rather well.

I have something very similar to you. I am Master Carbineer, BH 0/4/4/0, PIstoleer 0/0/4/3, and Novice Medic. I might swap out some of the pistol to get novice brawler so I can both heal and have intimidate (I'm still looking into that.)

As far as my template goes in pvp, I've been doing extremely well. Any ranged profession is no match for me. When it comes to melee though, I have to come up with some strategies. My defenses are high enough to prevent me from being dizzy/kd but not having the melee mitigation and melee defense is a little bit of a disadvantage. I've tried kiting but kiting only increases my chances of being dizzy/kd. I fight better if I stand my ground against melee.

However, despite the obvious lack of defense, I find that the BH carbine tree has a lot of useful specials. Confusion shot has the strongest dizzy of all my shots and usually always sticks to an opponent. I have had Fencers, dizzy/kd at my feet, unable to stand up. The most important thing (I believe) is to have the highest accuracy possible. I have several Carbines that are +90 at ideal range. With a snow cake, that makes it very easy to hit any defense maxed opponent.

Another advantage in my template is that I am also maxed on pistol speed and have fairly decent pistol accuracy. It allows me to combine my carbine attacks with some deadly pistol attacks as well. I have Torso, Bleeding, and Eye shot. Torso shot allows me to apply fire which is an incurable state by Jedis. Bleeding shot allows me to put a mind bleed to drain the unhealable stat pool that is mind. Eye shot adds a very strong blind state and is useful for mind attacks with a powerful geo blaster.

Back to your template, I have a good feel about the way your template plays and because of the lack of defenses, the medic skills you have will not save you in a battle. 90% of the time, I die from my mind going out. Besides, good stim B's can heal up to 600 damage a heal. I can take a short break from attacking in a battle to heal back up to full health and watch my opponent have to slowly drain it again. I would suggest swapping those medic skills for maybe more melee defense in Pistol Stances.

I believe that Iebas's template however is prehaps the best Carbineer template you can have. However, it is extremely expensive and difficult to maintain (Carbine attachments and Krayt carbines are killers to the old pocket book.) With my template, I can max on speed and accuracy and be able to wield cheap weapons destructively. No more need for speed sliced krayt carbines or constant watching of the galaxy trade for SEA's. All I need is a good suit of armor, a PSG (a must have for all of us easy to hit Carbineers), and some better than average weapons (specificaly ones with good range mods.)

All in all, I can say that your template is very fun and I'm getting a kick out of it now. There is certain content you can't play due to your lack of defenses and damage types (SBD's,Nightsister Elders, etc.)but everything else is fun. I really feel like I'm playing as a Star Wars carbine carrying, blaster shooting quickdraw.
