Combat XP is 10% of XP gained in a fight. The only way to boost this is to use grenades and/or traps. The line will progress as you go up in skill. The first three boxes will fill by the time you hit specialist in one weapon. If you're going for master the fourth box will fill about the same time (maybe a bit after) you complete the other two trees.

I have a question about Ranged Support too.

I am currently 0-4-0-4 for Marksman, I'm thinking about dropping Ranged Support to spend the skill points on one of my other professions.Pistolier/Medic/Ranger/Creature Handler.

Should I keep Ranged Support?? Does it really add much when I'm in combat? I dont use the abilities, but I am thinking losing the skill mods I get from this tree might make we weaker in combat.

any thoughts.

thanks,

mORPH.

depends on if you mainly do PvP or PvE. The skills are fairly useless for PvP and since you don't need ranged support for your pistoleer tree, you could drop it. But think carefully about if you ever plan to delve into any professions that do require it as combat xp takes a while to get. However, for PvE I find warning shot to be a great asset and suppression fire is a nice add on... was better before the 30 second timer.. but is still useful when used properly. If you don't use suppression fire you could drop to ranged 3 and keep warning shot.

Dropped it a over a month ago, and have only wanted it a very few times during the first 2 weeks I surrendered them. The "scare" skills are worthless against higher level mobs, and while /aim was nice it was not worth the points.

Keep them until you start to need the points them remove them.

Is Ranged Support needed once you get Master Pistoleer?

I mean is it worth haveing once you reach Master Pistoleer.

Not necessarily. It all depends on ifyou want supression fire and warning shot. If you can live without them, use the points elsewhere.

The ranged defense mods a good too, but I dropped it for novice medic which I find more useful in combat.

I use suppression every now and then. Otherwise I just kept Ranged Support to get Master Marksman.

How much does ranged support really help a master rifleman? I was considering dropping it so that i can put the points elsewhere. I never use the special for anything, but i was kinda worried that it might lower my accuracy a great deal. So basically my question is," Is it really worth keeping or couldi drop it without noticing much difference"?
