I can't believe the devs went ahead and did this. It's lucky I am a Creature Handler (1-1-0-0) because I don't need to rely on posture changes to control the target.

But I feel for the rest of you.

If you like solo'ing or hunting in small groups you might as well forget carbine now or advancing the carbine tree. Getting a level 25 pet as a tank is going to make your life so much more easier trust me.

*wanders off wondering why SWG has become all about pets*

  • Added 30 second posture change/knockdown timer. This applies to how often a player or creature can be knocked down. Once they have been knocked down they are immune to another knockdown move for 30 seconds.

I can see alot of the PVP people /dueling people on the same side before a large fight and using CDEF's to knock each other down. This will make them immune to enemy KD's also.

Whatever happens its just another nail in my SWG coffin, and the lid is looking mighty tight at the moment.

I really don't see a problem with this versus mobs. If you posture change something it usually stays that way for at least 10-15 seconds. If you use your head when fighting and work starting from max range in then you should be able to pc the target, blast it, run, pc, blast it, run a tad more...etc. till dead. This was implemented mostly to nerf knockdowns vs. bounty hunter targets, hence the decrease in the BH mission difficulties. I see this effecting crabineers only minimally.

    I agree.

    This does not effect us.

Personally I feel this strengthens us.

You are kidding, right? Posture changes lasted a few seconds, that's true. Mobs hit by KD, on the other hand, just "bounce" off the ground: they only stay down for a moment, maybe enough time for one shot at them while they're down.

One thing I don't know yet is whether there are separate timers for KD and PC, or if they share a timer. My guess is they share, but can someone confirm this?

I think the developers are a bunch of hacking pinheads, but that's just my opinion.

I spent the last 3 hours hunting with the "new carbineer" class. Let me just say that the game is a LOT harder.

Actually it's a totally different game: stuff you could normally solo.. forget about it.Even a yellow conthat you could normally pin and control is going to rip you a new one (as I found out).

Seriously... "Creature Handler Galaxies" here we come. I've untrained carbineer boxes already and trained Creature Training/Taming II.

The extra incaps, deathblows, more running... it's not worth it

Thank god i'm already a creature handler.

On the other hand, i think its time i screw carbineer and switch to commando, lol, if all carbineer is good for is damage now, i might as well do real damage!

My concern is PvP. How are possibly going to be able to face a creature handler now? Before this patch I could at least keep his pet off me with posture change. Now I can delay his pet for 5-10 seconds before it tears me to shreds with its 100% damage. It's time for those pets to get the 75% damage reduction that we suffer from already!

I posted something like this on the CH forum earlier predicting that ALL fighting classes would now be required to have pets. Guess my prediction was true. For better or worse.

    Posture lasting 15-10 seconds?!

That may be truefor most mobs onthe starter planets. But I'm happy if a posture down pins a Lok mob down for more than 1 round. And that's just Lok!

I can't imagine how we'll beable to manageon the harder worlds.

What really makes me sick is that I'm primarily a Combat Medic. But lately I've been more akin to a Combat VETERINARIAN.

    OMFG!!!!!!!!!!

This is my first post here, but have been reading for a while now. Up untill todays patch, even with broken specials. They could be worked around. I like to hunt solo and had recently learned the joy of pinning mobs (red cons) and getting decent xp.

But now........ We the carbineer class have been completely borked. I love the fact that every other major class got all sorts of fixes. We got nothing but quietly nerfed to the point of uselessness.

Soj time to make noise. We need help.

I really don't know whether to give up on carbineer and go pistol (HATE that idea) or wait and see if they fix this. If I wait, I really wont be able to do much as far as grinding my xp till they do.

I've spent 2 months training this and Master Dancer. Dancer is done all that I have left to work on is Carbineer. I'm paying 15 dollars a month for what? To not be able to go ut in to big wide galaxey and see the sites? Stay in the cantinas for my game time. This sucks!!!!!

    Sorry just wanted to vent.
