ACK!! NO edit button!

Anyway what I was going to say was:

Is it worth it to get Master Combat Medic?

The way I understand it, the Combat Medic support tree is broken and does nothing in the broad scheme of being a combat medic right now. Other than simply getting the title of combat medic, what would be the benefit of taking that tree up?

I am considering just taking the important ones that sort of work like ranged healing and crafting while maintaining enough skill points to take up a doctor tree or two and still maybe swing a little pistol skill too.

What do you think

I justed picked up CM novice this weekend, and also Pistoleer. There are not many of us out there, at least on Gorath server, that I could see.

If CM is broken, I get this from the forum here, not from personal experience since I just picked up the skill, I will still master it. Hopefully the devs will fix the class, and when they do I will be rip roaring ready to go. In the mean time I will continue to build up my pistol skills.

Absolutely. If you want to make up your mind, try going with a group to Dantooine and running a few missions. As a doc or as a medic, you'll be running all over the place trying to keep the group alive and you'll lose most of them simply because you can't get to them fast enough. As a Combat Medic, keeping 5 peeps healthy is not a problem. More often than not, if the group wipes, it'll be due to eithermind pool damage OR you got waxed early in the fight. I have no regrets going CM and strongly encourage docs topick up at least novice CM and get out of the freaking hospitals. The only draw back to CM is that you're going to be spending a lot of time at your crafting station, doing harvester runs, looking for resources, etc. And there's no real market for the CM meds yet, so you've got to find time to run missions to keep yourself financially afloat as well. That'll change in thefuture as more docs pick up CM med crafting and begin to offer themeds, but in the mean time, be ready to xps grind. It's not THAT bad once you master CM med crafting and get a factory. And the fixes on the way are only going to make a great class even better.

Yeah, a factory....boy that is gonna take some time..most of my cash goes toward buying the resources I can't get myself (I have a few scout skills), and shuttleing all over the place, and better weapons..but after awhile I will settle down and save up enough to get my factory and start cranking out some high quality meds

Ohh and Tarman makes a good point..find a group and hunt with them, when you start healin em for 600-800 damage ( I am still a novice using stim c's and ranged b's) you will see how much they love you, and how much they hate you whe you have to leave for the night..just kiddin..everyone loves a Combat Medic

in PvE, CMs are the gods of damage. I have kept grps of 10+ alive without issue losing people only to mind damage which there is nothing we cannot do.

In PvP, we are jokes and basically have to spec in an advanced weapon profession to do anything. The amounts of damage especially mind damage out in PvP right now, makes CMs almost useless in PvP.

yeah, we really are the shiz in PvE. people kiss my feet routinely for keeping them alive while fighting things thhat would otherwise be WAY out of their league. and theres nothing like keeping a party of 20 alive fighting tuskens. i swear, that place is the mother of all exp

I just stopped myself today through my grind through Ranger (Christmas Holocron #2) and asked myself if it's really worth it to do all of these professions just to unlock a FSCS.

I can't answer this because I've never really had the chance to see a jedi in action, so I'm turning it over to you all. Is a jedi character worth the hours of profession grind? I'd like to hear from people who actually have already gone through this and have gotten their force-sensitive slots as well as those who are grinding...

Thanks for your insight and input!

I started to holo grind about 2 months ago, mastered Chef (first holo) and got half way through Swordsman (second holo), then I just lost all interest in the game, so I quit for about a month, during that time I lost everything I had because my house was destroyed, I had about 17 Jedi crons 2 sith crons a wookie life day orb a krayt pearl and 2 twin crystals. Then a friend convinced me to come back to the game about a month ago, in that time i mastered medic 0-4-4-0 doc (thats all I wanted) and I mastered tk. Publish 10 is comming out sometime in July so that gives me around 3 months if I was to start grinding again.... but I wanted to know. Is it really worth it? Is jedi that great? I mean you have to hide from the BH's, from what ive herd its all bugged up, and it takes for ever. I was wondering what you Jedis think, are you enjoying it and are there any of you who are thinking about quitting. Thanks, Serji

Congratulations you hit the 1st wall. I hit a wall part way thru my 1st holo (chef as well). My 2nd wall I hit at 4123 jedi...andi quit for over a month. Many hit a 3rd wall at padawan-apprentice transition. As of now....no its probably not worth it because their going to change the system most likely before you unlock. However, in the long run jedi will most likely be worth it, hands down. You will get another character slot w/o paying an extra $15 a month and you'll be either force sensitive or a jedi. Good luck...but don't let jedi make you quit the game.
