Thread: What's your most powerful DPS carbine?
puped dps is not a good indication really - as the speed ones seem to have an odd effect - the base unmodded un puped dps is a good marker - as is the action cost on the weapon
eg as a carbineer/WS - i use a 340 base dps carbine which i sometimes pup to a mere 320 base dps (29% DAMAGE 14% speed pup) it then has a max damage of around the 1500 mark..
its action cost is a mere 79 points as well - i can craft much higher dps carbs using the same quality tissues - but then the action cost gets prohibitive.
I guess what im trying to say is the "best" weapons are not those with the highest dps - dps is important but modded and puped dps's are not directyl comparable

Still, it's hard to complain about a 352 Base DPS!!
I actually have anLaser carbine that has a 547 Base DPS, and over 1,000 modified and Pupped! Oh wait, I think that was inmy dreams. ![]()
Proton, eh? Maybe I should respec to BH like everyone else. /sigh
That is a sweet gun though! Although my dream gun did beat your DPS by 6 points. hahahahaha ![]()

Mine's 550, but dps isn't all that. It's all about max damage.

Same base with my E-11 MK2 (knew that my collection of uber noobs would pay off). Only 92 SAC. Have another elite with a 350 base and again 92 SAC.
Um, whomever is spouting this "DPS doesn't matter" has a few screws loose. A weaponsmith on my server tried to sell me that line and gave me an accuracy enhanced E11 Mk II with a modified DPS of about 370 in my hands and when I used it in PvP last night, I was wasted without accomplishing anything. I then swapped in my old school high speed, heavy hitting hammer and for the next two PvP assaults, managed to incapacitate no less than 8 people in thesecond battle and managed to incap two people when I walked right into an Imperial ambush and died inside of a minute.
Max damage just tells you how hard you can really hit in one shot, which is meaningless when you're probably competing against a long recycle timer. There's precious little out there you're going to kill in one hit anywhere and get anything meaningful in xp. DPS is a much better indicator of performance, even in PvE, because its not how hard you hit the target, its how fast you put them down.
My best is a 567 DPS conversion job of a pre-CU uber Enhanced E11 into an E11 Mark II

I am afraid I have to call you out on this one.....DPS does NOT matter once you hit enough Carbine Speed.....that is A FACT and well documented in other profs too. The cycle time on Specials hits a cap quite early in the Carbine Speed curve so a weapon that has increased DPS due to weapon speed is a waste. The statement 'DPS doesn't matter' just needs to be clarified for what circumstances it means......a weapon with increased DPS due to min/max damage does NOT fall under this statement.
