Thread: Carabineer weapon experimentation preferences?
I am aware of the problem with carabineers and ham cost, so in that light I wanted to ask you how imported ham cost compared to damage and to hit?
Will a carabineer experimented equally for ham and damage be more useful to you then one experimented only for damage?
Also what is you stand on the use of scopes and stocks witch increase the ham cost, but also increase damage and range modifiers.
Each Carbine should have it's own experimentation set. When I look for a new carbine, I look at damage, speed, and HAM and try to get an even balance. Some people have BH carbine so speed is not an issue. Many master Carbineers also are close to the speed cap so speed is not an issue for them. You really should try to find a balance in damage and HAM particularly. I don't know much about many of the other carbines, but I can try to answer for the laser and E11. Some Carbineers might know more about those than I do, but I'll tell you what I look for personally.
Most of us want a min damage on lasers near or above 50, and a max above 300. Speeds for that will range around 3.0 or so, and HAM goes from the 20's to the 70's. I look for min damage above 40, max above 300, HAM below 50's, and as fast a speed as I can find in those ranges. Then we slice them.
For an E11 Carbine, I look for a min damage as close to 100 as possible, a max around 200 or above, a speed around 2.0 and a ham in the 30's to 40's. Then I slice it. My E11 is my fast gun, so I want as high a DPS as possible.
That's what I'm looking for when I shop for a new laser or E11. I don't know if the weapons I do buy are Krayted or whatnot, but I won't buy 'em unless they are those ranges. But then again I'm not a master carbineer yet, So I might have more to learn about my weapons. BTW elites suck!
From a BH/Carbineer point of view, speed is not an issue, so Stocked Elite is weapon of choice.
The two guns I use are: DH17Short when unbuffed, Elite Carbine with stock for when buffed.
In the case of the DH17, you'll want to use the best materials you have for lowering HAM costs (if it works like that) since experiment points only lower one HAM each. But for the DH17, lowest HAM you can go is the best. Even for non-BH carbineers, speed doesn't really matter on this one.
For the Stocked Elite Carbine, HAM and speed (for me) are irrelivant. Up the damage/speed as MUCH as you can with those, since it is only used when buffed. This may not be used as much with non-BH carbineers because of the slow speed.
i cant find stocked elit carbines whats the stats HAM is not an issue for me cuz im a doc and im a master cabineer so speed ant that much of a issue but plz someone give me the stats on the stocked elit carbines they are rair ![]()
A stock is an extra componenent, like a scope. Scopes add Ideal Range and Wound%, but also adds a few HAM. At Master, most WS can experiment Scopes down to adding Range and Wound, but NOT adding HAM, so you always want a scope. On some guns, they look awesome with a hand made scope**.
Stocks adds to everything.Min and max damage, speed, a bunch of HAM, ideal range and wound%.I'll use Radiant's Malfunction, for example.
Elite: 3.5 109-189, 20.6%, -35/+35/-50, 31/48/24 (higher wound and ideal range them most because he uses no HAM scopes).
His stocked Elites come out to: 3.9 149-229, 30.4%, -35/+46/-50, 59/77/53.
Use some Krayt Tissue, damage slice over 25%, and a min/max power-up, and you can Cripple Shot right through buffed HAMs with ease.
**Scopes and stocks, when made in a factory and then added to a weapon, do not show up. They are 'invisible' on the skin (animation) of the weapon. If the scope, stock, and gun are all custom made, then they show up on the skin, and your weapon will actually have a stock and/or scope on it, one that you can see. An Elite with a stock and scope looks very, very cool, BTW. Only problem is no one else but you see's it :-\\.
P.S-Even at Master Carb (with no BH), speed can give you a problem. You only have a +65, which subtracts 65% of the guns speed. So, if you have a 3.9 weapon, you will shoot it at 1.365 (3.9X .35). Add a 2.5 multiplier for cripple and your shooting at 3.4 (3.9x2=9.75. 9.75 x .35=3.4125). Just as a heads up...
If your on Tarq ill make you one for a good price and im a master ws and a carbineer "almost master". Personaly i use about 7 carbines constantly. Some are made with 0 ham scopes and no stock for low ham heavy special use and others are made with huge range mods and high damage stocks...and then others are made somewere in the middle for some coustomers. Its nice having a laser carb with 70 sompthing min damage and a +50 at mid range...makes it real easy to kite mobs on a mount and never miss...also the 3k cripple shots iv gotten with it is fun as well heh. Diffrent weapons for diffrent circumstances is the way to go. But over all the weapons i use most are the dxr6 one with low hams and one with max damage range. and a Dh17 short with max damage for killing bases to save my power ups and my laser carb with max damage for kiting (50 yds is ideal range). Also have to have a nice Elite carbine for some armor pierce on those few mobs that are resistant to acid heh. The lasers only redeaming benifit is its med pierce and long ideal range...other than that i hate that inconsistant pos...
Once they fix the splash damage on the EE3 ill probably use it a lot more (still carry one though it does good heat damage). This wen fixed would be ideal for using your aoe attacks like full auto area 1&2...even your misses will hurt them :0)
LOL. I have two made like that. And your right they look very cool and do wonders to adding damage and wound without disrupting the spread. The one I pvp with has a 3.2 speed 43.9% wound and 243-154 dmg. Very nice weapon. My laser is even worse hehe. Looks like an assault rifle. 382-94 dmg 49.8% wound 2.8 speed.
