Thread: PvP tactics sharing

FAQs are nice and everything and kudos to everyone who puts the hard work into them but must you always refer people to the FAQ. Its not the end all solution to everything. Sometimes people would just like other peoples opinion on certain things but no one can get any ideas from anyone else, especially our lovely correspondent who like to always refer to the FAQ.
The best tactics or techniques out there really come from learning your character and what you do best solo or in group PvP. When I am solo I like to use my action DoT laser carbine, drop the other 2 stackable DoTs on them and hammer away with scattershot2. In group PvP or large scale PvP, I tend to be more support. I will focus on dropping DoTs on melees and hitting targets of opportunity (Low HAM) with crippling shot mostly. In the larger battles its all about survival and not necessarily going toe to toe especially if you get a TK on you.
As you will see hear on other post, a carbineer can basically go ignored in battle for quite sometime and that is much to your advantage but again the best way to learn is to get out there and see what fits your gameplay best and most of all have fun!

I must because of all the info this particular FAQ and Important Links contains.....this fine person already read the info but it doesn't really say how current it is in the FAQ....so the ONLY SMART thing to do is post that it is up to date.
I spend an awful lot of time working on the FAQ and keeping things current around here with literally hundreds of posts STICKY......would you rather that I copy/paste every single post that I have STICKY in every post asking questions?
BTW, where did I say that nobody else should post their own opinions here? And who knows, if this thread gets real good, it will become yet another PvP STICKY link ![]()

The thing about the FAQ is that it's based exactly on what others have posted.
In the case of PvP tactics, we had a thread called exactly that: "PvP Tactics", and Firehawk pretty much copy-pasted everyone's best responses and linked to several other good posts.
Carbineer tactics would be too long to describe in a single post, as we are one of the few professions that have to rely on situational encounters and specials (due to the nature of our specials themselves).. but if you check the FAQ and scroll down a few posts, there's a section called: "Carbineer PvP guide" which has the latest, most updated, and most general guide to PvPing as a Carbineer.

Oh that reminds me.....I need to link in the first post to those sections further down.....since there is no ToC for everything in the FAQ.....back to work ![]()

My simple strategy (as a master bounty hunter also):
spray shot untildizzy, stun, blind
underhand shot until KD
spam spray shot until they get back up
suppression fire until they are prone
spam spray shot until they get back up
etc...
Nothing ground breaking here, but itsfun to posture people down until they are prone. I would love to have a posture up attack so I could toggle them back and forth between prone and kneeling, how much fun would that be.
is underhand shot better then fire knockdown for pvp ?
FireKD has a chance to dizzy as well, so generally most stick to that.. but UnderhandShot KDs pretty well. Generally, most start off with FireKD and follow with Underhand or ChargeShots.
