Hey you all carbines junkies

I'm thinking of going back into PvP, i used to do it before the armor and buffs stains us

I'm needing some general and up to date tactics/tricks for carbineer

I'm currently master carb/BH 0400/pist 0044/novice brawler ( I build my char to deal with PvP later on following advice I found on these boards )

I'm not extremly rich, but I am aware I will need to spend alot on armor, PSGs, food and such...

Ialready have some top notch sliced normalweapons, I don't have any DoT carbines ( so I'd like to know wich ones to get )

As well as some tactics on how to fight an opponent ( I already use tactics in a fight, but it's in PvE or it was in old PvP, things have changed... )

Yes, I've read the FAQ, I'm on these forums since day 1, I know about pretty much everythingcarbineer, but, like I said, PvP change ALOT

I'd like some consistant tips and plenty of examples, this can serve of further guide for our newest members and inspiration for our hardcore PvPer out there

Thanks in advance

-Kudaark

Want to hear about the old Kudaark? huh?
Vangeance he seeks from those who took away his Loved One
But never an innocent or a helpless one will he harm
For he is a Protector, fearsome and fearless in battle
In the name of Freedom he sways his Justice
The Purifying Flame burns within him, a Kuun-Lan, he is...

FAQs are nice and everything and kudos to everyone who puts the hard work into them but must you always refer people to the FAQ. Its not the end all solution to everything. Sometimes people would just like other peoples opinion on certain things but no one can get any ideas from anyone else, especially our lovely correspondent who like to always refer to the FAQ.

KudaarkSomtaaw,

The best tactics or techniques out there really come from learning your character and what you do best solo or in group PvP. When I am solo I like to use my action DoT laser carbine, drop the other 2 stackable DoTs on them and hammer away with scattershot2. In group PvP or large scale PvP, I tend to be more support. I will focus on dropping DoTs on melees and hitting targets of opportunity (Low HAM) with crippling shot mostly. In the larger battles its all about survival and not necessarily going toe to toe especially if you get a TK on you.

As you will see hear on other post, a carbineer can basically go ignored in battle for quite sometime and that is much to your advantage but again the best way to learn is to get out there and see what fits your gameplay best and most of all have fun!

I must because of all the info this particular FAQ and Important Links contains.....this fine person already read the info but it doesn't really say how current it is in the FAQ....so the ONLY SMART thing to do is post that it is up to date.

I spend an awful lot of time working on the FAQ and keeping things current around here with literally hundreds of posts STICKY......would you rather that I copy/paste every single post that I have STICKY in every post asking questions?

BTW, where did I say that nobody else should post their own opinions here? And who knows, if this thread gets real good, it will become yet another PvP STICKY link

The thing about the FAQ is that it's based exactly on what others have posted.

In the case of PvP tactics, we had a thread called exactly that: "PvP Tactics", and Firehawk pretty much copy-pasted everyone's best responses and linked to several other good posts.

Carbineer tactics would be too long to describe in a single post, as we are one of the few professions that have to rely on situational encounters and specials (due to the nature of our specials themselves).. but if you check the FAQ and scroll down a few posts, there's a section called: "Carbineer PvP guide" which has the latest, most updated, and most general guide to PvPing as a Carbineer.

my tactics

its confusion shot spamed(normally 3 to 6 times)until i see the dizzy and stun states pop up then fire knockdown - cripple shot, crippleshot (spammed if knocked down - unless other jerks about then i dizzy the guy on the floor for a bit to keep him down while i try deal with others) if he doesnt go down i try actionshot2 after a few dizzys, then just spam autosingleshot2 (i think)

this aint wot i do every time but close to it with different combos

My simple strategy (as a master bounty hunter also):

spray shot untildizzy, stun, blind

underhand shot until KD

spam spray shot until they get back up

suppression fire until they are prone

spam spray shot until they get back up

etc...

Nothing ground breaking here, but itsfun to posture people down until they are prone. I would love to have a posture up attack so I could toggle them back and forth between prone and kneeling, how much fun would that be.

fire KD has a chance to apply dizzy where underhand just KDs. was in a huge 4 hour battle today and i'd have to say i was completely useless. i've never seen so many CMs in my life and docs in the rear healing everything on both sides. i just applied my states but we couldn't move forward because we had 2 bases with 4 tower turrets shooting at us and we were also way outnumbered. are turrets bugged or something because they seem to hit a hell of a lot harder than i remember. i have 40% stun 85% base armor and i got shot3 times for around 1500 for an incap. after that i just logged on my doc to run around healing people

FireKD has a chance to dizzy as well, so generally most stick to that.. but UnderhandShot KDs pretty well. Generally, most start off with FireKD and follow with Underhand or ChargeShots.

[added] oops, didnt see post above

This looks more like BH PvP Tactics than those used by a Carbineer.....
