Thread: Chargeshot 1 and 2

After the latest patch I did some testing and it seems now that CS1 is working as intended, with a kd timer. However the patch notes also said that they had added a timer to CS2 aswell, too bad they forgot to put a kd there aswell.

CS1 was one of the few things that made me feel a bit unique for being a Carbineer and I'm must say I got rather pissed when they added a timer to it without even fixing any other broken special. Wouldn't be so bad if we just had a working dizzy or something. Once again the nerf criers have gotten what they want and to me it feels like Carbineers are nothing but a underpowered version of the rifleman now.

If they indeed didnt fix chargeshot2 and nerfed chargeshot1 then this profession is utterly useless.

It's about time they fixed it. You still have some nice shots just need to learn how to use them.You have spammed chargeshot so long perhaps you have forgot that some professions take skill to play, you can't just pin people to the ground.. Anyways I won't go on - no point. It's fixed!

Please explain it to me since I am at work....


Last night for instance. I would charge shot a Graul, it fell down. In that time I put one burst sghot into him, then CS1 again....he would fall down after a message you failed to KD. But pop right back up. NOW do they at least STAY DOWN since we have a timer? Or do they pop right back up again?


If so, then this is a complete waste of a profession with the other broken specials...and just when I invested HEAVILY for some uber Krayt weapons....

I just tried PVP, and seriously, there is NO REASON whatsoever to be a carbineer instead of a rifleman. And why use chargeshot at all when there's fire knockdown? I don't see how that attack is worse in any way. Just seems way better. Thank you, SOE, for dealing a final fatal blow to this profession. Looks like we have a ranged Pikeman now... THANK YOU!

What about chargeshot1's effeciency? fireKD is almost useless as it actually works about 1 in 5 (probably less) times. Charge shot, on the other hand almost always seemed to land. Does it still work well the first time?

Well CS1 only worked that well before because resists against knockdown were completely neglected by the attack. Even if it said you failed to knock someone down, it still worked. Now chargeshot1 can be resisted, has a 30sec timer, so is basically a gimped fire knockdown. As I said, we're now a ranged pikeman. I hate SOE atm... I really hate them. Sometimes it works on the first hit, but you better dizzy them before using it, as you will have to wait 30sec before it can work again if they stand up. *cries* I am happy this won't make more people become riflemen though... *rolls eyes*

I thought I found my calling....


I suppose now to be a PvP Doc I will follow the bandwagon. I will go ahead and master Carbine since I am so close, but then I will drop and go Rifle..

soe must hate me, i quit rifleman way back when they nerfed the t21 and switched to carbineer. i finally reachmaster, and they "fix" charge shot...


F U soe, how bout you really fix all of our broken specials before nerf/fixing the one that matters mostto us.

Precisely my opinion aswell, israiley! Why nerf one of the worst professions in the game? They removed the only thing which made people think it was useful. Try Master Carbineer, Master Marksman now... Must be impossible to even play without the BH bonuses.

Couple of thoughts....SOE proves once again they are more concerned about the nerf herders feelings than fixing bugs that have been in the professions since launch.


Not only did they nerf ChargeShot 1 they actually wasted the time to nerf a broken special ChargeShot 2.....real genius there bubba.

I have no problem with chargeshot1 being the way it is now if they would just fix our other specials aswell. Sure we have some other nice specials like scattershot2 and cripple shot but with the nerf of chargeshot1 there is really no point in being a carbineer instead of a rifleman since we have no specials that really sets us apart from rifleman. We are pretty much the same just that we do less damage. And not everyone that is a carbineer got the BH carbine.

Guys,


Charge shot in its previous form WAS bugged. You all knew it.... you knew that they would fix it eventually....if you chose the profession on a single shot knowing it was bugged then you shouldnt be Carbineers in the first place.


Now I feel that SOE shouldn't have made any "fixes" that take away from a class until the combat rebalance, However are you guys really that surprised?


Just a forwarning on flocking to other profs.....rifleman comes to mind....there is going to be a massive shift in combat profs next update.......so if you decide to go rifleman keep your expectations flexible.....I doubt the will retain their massive advantage after te rebalance.
