The final attacks were ScatterShot2's alternated with FullAutoArea2 attacks to keep the nasties around us aggroed. She went down on a Mind incap and actually had to sit there a minute, while I cleaned up the aggro mess I created. By the time I had her dead and the aggros cleared, we were over a kilometer outside the city.

Very nice story. I'm confused about two things though. If you were using FullAutoArea2, wouldn't that have aggroed all the nasties to you, and not to her? And if she went down to a mind incap, but had a minute to sit there while you cleaned up the aggro mess, wouldn't that have let her wake up (especially if brandied)? Wouldn't it have been more prudent for you to deathblow, then clean up the mess?
I'm not exactly sure what happened at the end of the battle...
Congrats to you though.

I too questioned FullAutoArea2, but hey whateverworks for you.
Awesome to hear about Carbineer Success.....it does happen, just not that often......
I was using FAA2 for a couple reasons. One, its what I have on the macro, its intended as an area attack mode. Two, I had intended to stay in the city and fight, and this guild is legendary for GTEFing, so I wanted to use the area attack to draw them out and be damned sure if I was hitting one, i was hitting them all.
The fact that I got stuck with it in the wilds and it turned out to work to my advantage was pure icing on the cake.

Now I'm even more confused. I though GTEF only let them attack you, not you attack them. Imagine you are fighting Fighter (F) and Grouper (G), who are grouped. You kill G, who clones and re-enters the battlefield (without attacking you), and stands next to F. I thought if you area attack F, G would be immune (until G in turn attacked you and got a TEF).
Or did you mean that if somebody joined the fight you would engage them automatically from the area effect without having to think about it?

Right, but once they aggroed, having an Area attack already being fired would almost negate the first strike. They'd get their free shot, but they'd be taking damage from me almost instantly afterwards.

Well the story was great until you brought this FORBIDDEN word into the mix.......that is pure evil to a Carbineer
Damn, and here I thought I was doing good by using ChargeShot1 only one shot per attempt. Seriously, using a 1 second macro allows me to keep the heat on while adding bits and pieces to the battle as needed with VERY little delay.
I have Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, constant button mashing is painful.
