Thread: Is this a Carbineer or BH forum?

Hello all

I've been following the posts in this forum a bit since I'm working on Doc / Carbineer right now. Whenever I see posts about how good the Carbineer profession is, I always see that they also include the BH Carbineer line om their templates.

Is the Carbineer profession so weak that it isn't viable without stacking with other professions?

Well since we are so much slower than any other prof.....Speed has to be gotten in BH or SEA's....

If there is a combat revamp, expect this to if not change so at least become somewhat better.

Another reason is that the Bounty Hunter forum is filled with all kinds of brilliant, innovative ideas , and the real questions usually get on page two in a matter of minutes.

BH/Carbineer is just an internal FOTM, you might say. With the changes to the Scout pre-requisite, it kinda energized a number of us into trying a template which increases the foothold we have in combat without multiple millions of credits worth of SEAs. The Accuracy is enough that we can just about start to make the defense stackers sweat and you cannot beat the feeling you get when you can unload CripplingShot at the speed cap on a 4.0 speed Laser Carbine or DXR-6.

I'm a Master Carbineer/Master Marksmanfirst and foremost, with Bounty Hunter Carbines IVas a poor man's SEA suit.

Oh there is most definitely a Combat Revamp......and I will be the biggest pain in the arse in the history of SOE to get Carbineer BALANCED. And don't confuse that to say I will be making Carbineer FotM either. My goal for all profs is BALANCE.

I'm glad to hear there will be a combat revamp... I had almost forgotten the devs actually had talked about it in the time that has past since last time it was hinted.

(hint: if they ask you, tell them to get their asses to work on cranking out those documents they keep making themselves look like they don't care about their customers (and I don't believe that is really so) and they keep making themselves looking unprofessional by saying "We have changes in store for you, they will come. No we don't have changes in store for you, we never had but we will. Yes we are working on changes, a few select persons may see what the changes are but they are not allowed to tell anyone what they have seen. You will be notified in the coming weeks about the changes, as soon as we've written good documents on them. (then followed by a month of silence and NDA:s)")

I'm not a impatient man, but I am getting a bit dulled out. The game is starting to loose it's appeal... which I think is a dreadfull prospect seeing how much time I have spent on it up till now. One solution would be to drop Carbineer and get some other profession instead... I know. But I have been carbineer since I started this game, and I'd rather sit it out and wait for the CB... if I just knew what it is going to mean... at least in some verified broad sweeps.

Well whatever, it isn't a matter for this thread, and it isn't really your problem, I just had to get it of my chest.

You have thousands and thousands that share your viewpoint. And I am even one of them.....to a certain degree since I have more info than the rest of you.....

Obviously I can't talk about the Combat Upgrade, but the sooner it gets here the better.....KINDA, we don't want to rush something this big either.

And one thing we all must understand is there will always be people complaining (glad you weren't whining or I wouldn't have even replied). It is human nature....

Personally I complain about the lack of minor fixes being done NOW, and what I have proposed could be done NOW.....but at the same I don't want the Devs to slow down on JTL or the Combat Upgrade. It is a difficult juggling act....

Are you allowed to say if the combat documents have been posted on the correspondent forum yet? RandonB stated that they will be posted there for editing by you guys before being released to the public. I, and I guess a lot of other people, would be interested to know.

Not sure if I am allowed to say this or not....but as RandonB stated, we have been working on the Combat Docs....and even before I was Corr they were changing and revising them. Lots of things are happening, I just can't say what yet

And to be clear, YES the Combat Docs are being posted to the Corr Forum for review.

Got it, kill TA, become TA, read combat docs

I think that the combat upgrade should have had priority over JTL, but at the moment both looking very promising so as long as they both get done well i am content with waiting

It just makes a lot of sense to at least pick up the BH carb line if you're a Carbineer. Just like Pistoleers will usually pick up the Rogue Smuggler line. They serve as a nice compliment. Carbineer forum should cover all things Carbines...which includes part of the BH skill tree.
