Thread: DONT change carbineer in combat revamp!

I have been doing carbineer over the past few days and have come to realize that this is the most fun profession and entertaining. Why? We are the ONLY support roles in the game. I ENJOY being an enforcer or area kd'er for pvp groups. I would honestly say other than new weapons and a few mod updates carbineer is fine the way it is IF YOU CAN LEARN HOW TO PLAY it. Many ppl will say this profession sucks. They say that because they are idiots that believe one-man-army is the only way to fight. Let me tell you, nothing feels better than saving your team by using a dot weapon and chargeshot 2.
This profession will be utterly ruined forever if the combat revamp turnsthis into a "one-man-army" profession. I dont want this to be like TKM, rifleman, or fencer. This profession was made a support role for a reason. Please give a /sign or comment if you agree/disagree with this post. (please dont bother posting if you just did carbs as a holo-profession or cause you wanted to be one-man-army and thought it sucked)

honestly, i agree, if any thing, add a few defenses, as well, carbine defenses are rather sad in comparison.

I have a feeling that when the devs do the combat rebalance, carbineer will be the baseline proffession. Thare are a few minor tweaks here and there that the proffession could still use, but over all carbineer has a decent level of versatility, while at the same time not being overpowered in PvE.

Don't worry about Carbineer becoming a "one-man-army". Combat revamp, (from what I've heard), will be lowering the current "Uber" professions so that no one is a one-man-army.
Now if ya go to teh rifleman forum they'll just whine about not being uber anymore but I think this is a good idea, maybe *GASP* ppl will actually start getting into groups to hunt TOGATHER! OH NO! 
And I'm sure carbineer will maintain its role as support, after all the in-fighters like melee and pistoleers will need fire support in places like the DWB.

They are already whining in eclipse about not being uber anymore after the revamp

I agree. All we need is a couple tweaks here and there, and the profession will be the bomb. Its the perfect support profession.

15 more points of speed, 15 more points in our defenses vs states, and +40 melee defense in the specials line like Riflemen and Pistoleers have and I'll be completely happy.
Oh yeah, and a fourth damage type. (I want my Blast carbine
)

I agree! I'm Carbineer + Squad Leader, just because i wanna be the perfect enforcer/ supporter for the group!

I agree completely. I would also like like a blast carb. id then march my way to Sanctuary and blast a few At-Sts a new one

Hi,
On the offence side, I only need /legshot3 working. Everything else is very cool. (I think you still go close to capping with 75 ... 85 would certainly be nice.)
On the defense side, we probably need more. It is strange why rifleman who sits and snipes get hellova lot of melee/range defense while carbineer/frontliner get zip. (But they dont get KD def either just for the record)

dont let a rifleman's melee defense fool you, against someone holding a rifle, melee attacks get a 2.5x to hit them. honestly, even with the 40 melee defense i have at master rifleman, i will still be hit at least 90% of the time by melee attacks.
