nyms

That is one with exactly similar stats to mine, I could not even slice it for 2% on damage.
I did a 12% speed slice, attack speed is now at 1.98 (base dps 360 for those who care).
But with the critical slices working I would probly go for a full critical slice on this one...

For me to get a give a good suggestion on slices, I need to know your template.

Critical slice all the way then. Your speed with this weapon should be good (2.25 is good IMO) and since the Nyms has slightly higher SAC than other carbs being too fast isn't always an advantage.
I think the damage is 20% more when you land a critical hit, but I'm not sure on this one; it is my personal impression.

Nice weapon. One of the nicer Nym's I have seen. I would also go with critical slices on it.

I have a pre-CU version, it is terrible. Player crafted all the way for me.

Well unless something has changed in the last few days that I dont know about, you can craft a Nyms

There is no decent player-crafter carbineer kinetic weapon sadly. The Nyms is pretty much as good as it gets for Carbineers. The basic Nyms is a turd, with damage around 580 and an elemental damage of 120 or so. Nothing too exciting. But occasionally a very nice Nyms will drop, like the one in the original posters link. These can be VERY nice weapons. The one listed above has 717 max damage with 175 elemental. Very nice. And the best part is that this sub-900 max damage Kinetic carbine will hit a PSG's player for 200 MORE damage than an 1063 max damage energy carbine. That means that the Nyms is actually more powerful against PvP targets than a damage capped E11 or Elite.

Does it mean that the Nyms is the weapon you should always use for PvP? Not at all. There are many factors that go into choosing the right weapon for PvP as well as PvE. But the fact of the matter is, the Nyms can smack someone pretty hard if you have a nicer one.

If you have a crap Nyms, you may want to consider running the quest over again to see if you can get a better one.

that is an excellent Nym's. I have only seen 1 better, and it is mine. A guildie gave it to me not long ago because he is going glowy. It is from post CU, but it has max dmg of 785 with 182 elemental, speed is same as original poster too. I think my SAC cost on it is 93, but a SAC pup helps this, or else jsut eating a good action regen food.

This gun will only see PvP action, it stays on the wall in my house unless I am going to go PvP.

its completly random - u have to repeat the quest several (many) times to get good one

narrganoca:i thaught nyms SAC gets lower with more dmg (true for all i looted) so with 785dmg (woot ! omg ! awsome !) it should be under 80 maybe mid-70
