hi m8s

im using 2 carbines while fighting jedis, both with a dmg pup, the czerka got 1008dmg with the pup and the nyms round 820.
but strangly im doing more dmg with the nyms then with the czerka. Does anybody got an idea why? because id like to adk one of them.
What carbine you would use.

Looks to me like Nym's does more dmg because of the Elemental Acid dmg 172, this bumps up your minimum damage considerably so I'd go for that

(edit) woops, just noticed the clickies, I thought the min or acc. onthe czerka would be lower but no. Yeah, that elemental is probably what's pushing nyms up over the czerka.

Also, ajedi using aura isprobably pushing your damage close to min, which puts the two guns pretty even on damage (without the elemental).

I must be missing something because both those weapons look weaker them an average Elite Carbine. What am I missing?

Is it the SAC?

If so, I thinka Proton Carbine would still be the better option.

Heh, the thing you're missing is that both of these carbines have kinetic damage, which is preferably when fighting a Jedi because most Jedi wear PSGs, which only have energy resists.

My esteemed colleague, St. Davidii the Evil Zemzam killer, is absolutely correct.

Find a Master Defender Jedi friend.

Have him turn on his Aura and equip a PSG. Once the PSG is fully charged....do this:

- Hit him with your most powerful special using a 1063(capped) max damage Elite/E11 carbine (or a proton if you must)

Then...

- Hit him with a Nyms or Czerka like the ones above. They look less powerful, but they will do almost TWICE the damage of the Energy carbines.

The only time I ever use my energy carbines in PvP is against non- PSG'd opponents. Occasionally you will find one of these in your average PvP, but not too often. Most fighters are wising up to the fact that PSG's are insanely useful. PSG's plus Recon armor pretty much make all the high end energy carbines PvE only. But if I see a guy in composite without a PSG....Ill switch to my Elite in a hearbeat.

My elite can also fire faster than my Nyms and has a slightly lower SAC, so there are occaions when I use it. If I am working in an AoE or crowd control roll with my PvP group, I will most likely pull out the elite for the speed, accuracy, and longevity bonuses it gives me. In group PvP where targets are called in voice comms and there are melee tanks/Jedi, healers, and ranged professions, I dont need to do uber damage. But I do need to be able to AoE, KD, snare, etc from the outskirts of the battle. The elite is very useful in that regard.

Also when fighting jedi...or any opponent with decent defence for that matter it is your minimum dmg that is key. For PvE maximum dmg potential can be reached so your uber carbine will be king but against a PvP opponent with defence way above your accuracy it's all about minimum. So that combined with the kinetic dmg means that these work out to be much more effecient killers that a high max dmg energy carbine.

A 50%damage reduction just from having a 2000 protection PSG? Seems way off.

I understand the theory though and can see how it would be good in the circumstance. Thanks

You also should get both of those sliced. For either speed or dmg. Speed will bring up your DPS more than a dmg slice though.

i got a lvl3 dmg lvl1 spd lvl1 crit slice on the nyms.
