Carbineer is now cert'd for Basic/Standard/Advanced Battle Armor, please post your good/bad feedback on this and any other armor in the Combat Upgrade.

I just think it'd be really good if a new padded helmet was invented... something slightly less Mushroom-head looking...

Thing is, the rebel armor helm and the RIS helm all look kinda mushroomy... its depressing really.

and the marauder helmet is also naff...

Kinda ruins the profession for me a little cos i cant look good in my armor.

Im not entirely sure who they hire to design headpieces but...id never let them cook at my house. I hate mushrooms... Why cant we have just a nice helmet something like maybe a skullcap or the option to wear helmets and turn the graphic off if they look that stupid.

I don't know if they are just following SW cannon or not, but I don't like most of the helmets either.

yeah, the battle armor is a real bummer...

The only real Battle armor that looks decent is the RIS and we all know how rare that is.

While I agree that the armor system needed to be changed I don't understand why they went with a cert. System. Factional armor should be certed but not the rest. Any player should be able to wear any armor they want. These current devs are fascinated by doing everything in "levels". Bunch f BS if you ask me.

i dissagree, i think armor certs is the best idea ever. i hate seeing everyon run around in just composite armor and no variety. this will give each profession more distinction. as long as the armor is balanced then i think this new system is great

The only reason people all ran around in Comp in this system we have in live now is because it was the ONLY viable armor that could be made...no other could have the number of resists and stats of 60% base 80% kenetic...

In the new system EVERY armor will have the option to be a PvP set of armor which makes people upset that now that all armor is viable they are still being limited.

I really dont see the point of the cert system either. It would actually be cool where each class is given a primary cert, but has the option to purchase other certs kind of through training.

One of my questsions for the DEVs is if I am certed for battle armor why shouldnt I be certed for recon armor. It is suppose to be a lighter armor. Not to bring up the WoW/EQ2 analogy, but characters are generally certed to wear the lesser armor types in addition to the primary armor type in most MMO/RPGs

I have to agree on the padded armor helmet. It really looks pitiful

The difference though is that Recon, Battle, and Assault armors are not more powerful than one another overall. They're fit into their catagories by how well they defend against Energy and Kinetic attacks. If someone certified for Assault armor could also use the other types of armor (which realistically are lighter in weight) without having to go into the professions that certify them, then that person would be a bit overpowered, able to choose to use Assault or Recon depending on what he can expect to be attacked by.

And I also agree with the padded armor

I don't really like the RIS armor that much either.

I do like the Rebel Battle Armor though

yes, or by mixing and matching different armor peices, one could become very powerful againt every kind of attack like it is now with composite. so its better to think of them as the same power with different strengths and weaknesses instead of "lighter" armor
