I'm a master carbineer ( yay!) and 0400 bounty hunter and i was wondering if it was worth it to get master bh just for sprayshot? Is it that much better than crippleshot in terms of damage? Is it easier to apply states with than other shots? any info is appreciated

I'd say the question is really how useful is the state blind.

Don't get me wrong sprayshot is one of the best specials in the game for any weapon, but since you are a carbineer and won't use it to do damage, the only difference between it and confusionshot is the blind state.

I'm not sure we really know the answer to how useful blind is, since the devs are such information nazis.

I would suggest talking to the BH's on their Forum....

But I will say that no other Carbine Special is as high of damage as CripplingShot on a single target.

Reading this, I decided to test it for you.

Using a 216/354 dmg DXR6 carbine against bases.

Max hit with Sprayshot = 2080
Max hit with Confusionshot = 1535

Sprayshot = blind + dizzy + stun.
Confusionshot = dizzy + stun.

In my personal experiance I have never found one shot to be more effective then the other for applying dizzy + stun. With either, it will often take several shots against targets to apply the states.

No doubt that sprayshot is good. You are however talking about a 43 skill point investment just to get that one shot. I'm not sure it's THAT good. As others have said, you already have high dmg shots from carbineer. There are probably a lot of other things you could do with those skill points that would serve you better. (defenses, healing, intimidate, warcry, or so on)

Well, if the only added advantage is Blind, I'll stick with my current mix of FireKD/CripplingShot and FullAutoArea2/ChargeShot2.

Sprayshot hits health. It hit's it hard.

If you were to look at the averages of the times Crippleshot hit's health.

I'd say they attack health about the same amount over time with Crippleshot probably

doing a little more damage but less reliably in a "tight" situation.

Sprayshot however has stun (drops targets defences and slows they're attack mods)

Blind (reduces targets accuracy) and

Dizzy (we all know what that does)

Is MBH worth it just for sprayshot ... no (although it'd be a cold day before they pry that special from my furry palms).

Is MBH worth it for the accuracy speed and player bounties (soon not just Jedi)... yes.

Don't forget with MBH you get LLC Cone 2. This VERY underrated special will drop most groups of high level Mobs that a carbine wouldn't even scratch in seconds. LLC Single 2 is a tactically complicated and VERY usefull speciall in pvp

(Honestly, I'd bet carbineers would use the LLC more than most BH's who seem to forget they have it).

You also get pistol skills that are actually better than a standalone Pistoleer ever gets.

So is MBH worth it. O yea. Is it worth it just for sprayshot.... almost *wink

In my experience, confusionshot is far superior to fullautosingle2 for applying states. Fullautosingle2 will apply states but it can not be counted on to apply them in a short burst of specials. Confusionshot is better at sticking stun and dizzy but it still is not completely reliable. Further, I am not sure accuracy plays any part in getting states to stick. Fullautosingle2 works just the same at M.Carb/BH 0400 than it did at just M.Carb. I have I believe 225 (give or take 10) carbine accuracy and fullautosingle2 still requires significant spamming to get all 3 states applied.

I am 17 stupid $%#ing bounty hunter missions from master bounty hunter and then I'll have access to all the carbineer specials. Once I get there, I'll tell you if I think thoseextra points are worth it.

There are also "fringe" benefits to MBH/M.Carbsuch as the electricity damage LLC. Thatis a very very handy damage type for PvE. Plus on big big baddies, you can open with a pistol to apply a health bleed,health fire and then switch to carbines. Over a big fight against something with armor, those DOTs add up.

Naw...

my concept of soon is different being a wookie and all.

It takes great patience to be a BH. It takes even greater patience to remain one *wink

I've seen CripplingShot hit pools other than Health alone, so its got a little versatility toit. Its not a shot you use for a Mind incap, but every so often, that blue flash in your targets eyes from a hard head hit is great.

From the BH line, if I'm worried about a state, its Dizzy. Paired with BH KD attacks, its really the only one you need. If I'm worrying about Blind or Stun, its in a mass fire situation against multiple targets, in which case I'm laying out FullAutoArea2 to spread the love far and wide, followed by a periodic ChargeShot2.

I'm an old school Master Carbineer, I don't want to get into a situation where I'm mentally dependent on one ultimate shot for a win.

I personally love the Sprayshot series. I find it very usefull in taking down non-jedi bounties.
